  • Kibbuka Plays Flute by taiche

Homage to David Kibbuka’s Flute Player. Kibuuka works primarily in batique: I took the image and reproduced it for my own home in neutral shades. Truly an inspirational artist. Reproducing other’s work was a way for me to gain confidence with brush, colour and style, allowing my own artistic flow to come to the fore. In fear of copyright infringement this work is not for sale.

  • Pilansberg Elephant by Tom Godfrey

I did this acrylic painting in 2003. The ele was almost knee deep in lush grass and shrubs (very considerate of him – meant I didn’t have to paint his feet :)) in the Pilansberg Nature Reserve, north -west of Johannesburg. The background is semi true to the area, but has more of a Zimbabwean bush feel with the granite “Koppies” (phonetic spelling – means small hills) in the background. He hangs on my wall at home. I am putting him up to try to get enough pics for a “Wildlife Calendar” which could be fun and anyway my mum finds most of my Sci-Fi pics too scary :)

  • Wansimba Primary School by Rosie Appleton

Not far from the camp ground we stayed at in Jinja (1/2 hour drive maybe) was the Wansimba Primary School. SoftPower Education, a charity run out of our camp organise for backpackers and tourists to go to the local schools and help fix them up. Our task was to paint the brown on the outside of the building, the final touches to having the school fully functioning again for the children. It was holidays but they still all hung around, especially when “mzungu”(white people) were going to be around!

  • TRIBAL LADY - ETHIOPIA by Michael Sheridan

Life hasn’t been easy for this old Bume Lady. The Bume People are probably the poorest of the many tribes living in the remote Omo Valley – Southern Ethiopia. She was photographed in her village located on a bluff high above the muddy Omo River.

  • My Secret by Heather Ward

I was fortunate to be able to get several great photos of gorillas at my last trip to the zoo. This one was only a few feet away from me, just sitting, thinking. With a slight grin on his face, I have to wonder what his secret is. This is a lowland gorilla, and like all the great apes, is an endangered species. Drawn in charcoal on vellum, 2008. Original 13”x17” available.

  • Cape Buffalo by africanbush

Another one of the Big 5 the cape buffalo / these guys are not small trust me / shot taken on / Zulu Nyala Reserve / South Africa / Zululand

  • Natures Giants by eric shepherd

I just love painting elephants, and trying to come up with different colour combinations, it’s amazing the colours that one can make, with just four or five tubes of colour This one is painted in Acrylics on canvas and measures 1200×600 mm Although the main elephant occupies nearly half of the canvas, I wanted the direction of the clouds, the earth, and the light, to guide the eye to the smaller elephants, thus giving them just as much importance to the painting.

  • I write this for all the men & women out there who are or have been at the hands of an abuser…may you stand up for yourself, ask for help, get out before it’s too late and at the first sign of a red flag -> listen to your gut, not your heart!!! I don’t feel sorry for myself nor do I want or need pity…I got trapped & only blame myself for believing an abusive liar…....trying to see past the bad & trying to see the good in people, even if only so small, does not always pay off!!! • Caged by ApeArt

This is a female chimpanzee who is currently in quarentine at Limbe Wildlife Centre in Cameroon. I had the privilege of looking after her in December. She was separated from the other chimps because she was nursing her little baby. Though she also had the company of another nursing mother. Most of the animals had been rescued from the illegal pet and bushmeat trade in Cameroon. Just look at the intelligence and recognition and need to communicate in her eyes…

  • Susan-A Miracle girl! by TREVOR IRWIN

Please when you have time, visit my Mission charity site: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ When We first met Susan on a mission to a rural village in April 2007, she was in the later stages of death. her body was infested with intestinal worms. medicines would not work. I prayed for her in the village, along with two other mission volunteers. We left to continue our journey. But God spoke to me, and We returned that evening and put her in our old battered vehicle adn brought her to our mission centre. We continued to pray and command death to leave her alone. 5 days later and God completely healed her. Now as you see, Susan is completely healed. She shares her testimony with us on missions into other villages and many have also received healing and hope. Praise God! Please help us to continue to reach others with the healing love of God. • my name is Grace. by TREVOR IRWIN

Please Visit: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ 100% of all your money goes towards the care of extreme rural families in Rural Isolated Villages in Africa. As I spend much time living with the Kambari tribe, I get to know first hand the challenges they face each day just to survive. I also have the privilege of capturing not only hunger, sickness and often death, but the more happy occasions. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference is wonderful. We as a Charity depend on People like yourself, who donate time in Prayer and Finance to help us provide help and support for Grace and many others like her. I thank you all so much for your help. Without those who give towards the Mission, we just could not do it. Donate some of your art and save a child’s life! Please Visit: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Camera: Canon EOS400D.
