This funny fellow was digging through my leaf-laden backyard, poking his nose in search of nuts. He struck pay dirt, and quickly scampered off. Sometimes when focusing on one subject, it is not always necessary to cover the whole. If I included the rest of this squirrel, the focus would have shifted away from the eyes and the prize acorn held in his paw. The same can be done with people, flowers, you name it. The viewer is then drawn to the heart of the subject. /A extract from the story of “Adventures of Nylo and Rac, The Dragon who lost her rainbow” / “Sob, sniffle, sob, sob, sigh!” Whimpered the voice from deeper in the cave, it was too dark for Nylo to see who was crying, so she took out her wand and said a little spell, “With a little light of my mine my sprinkle will let it shine!” waving it three times then pointing it at the darkness of the cave and at the end of her wand shone a bright light so Nylo and Rac which way to go; as they followed the sobbing and sniffles they came to a very big beautiful red dragon who was sobbing away in the corner “Sob, sniffle, sob, sob, sigh!” Whimpered the Red dragon “Why are you so sad Miss Dragon?” asked Nylo in a soft voice the Dragon replied “Sob, sniffle, sob, sob, because I lost my rainbow to keep my home from being so dark! Sob, sniffle, sob” “Oh dear I’m very sorry to hear that, my names Nylo and this is my cat Rac, what is your name?” asked Nylo the Dragon gave a tiny smile at Nylo’s niceness “my name is Scarlet.” she said Nylo grinned “That is a lovely name scarlet! Would you like me and Rac to help you get a new one?” Scarlet smiled as Nylo was very kind, “That is very nice of you but you can only get rainbows of special fairies that live 4 islands away, I would go myself to get a new one but the fairies don’t let dragons in because were too big,” Scarlet said sadly “well me and Rac are small I’m sure wee would be aloud would you like us to go for you?” asked Nylo the dragon brushed her tears off her face and smiled “Thank you very much, you are a very special witch!” Nylo smiled in reply. Nylo and Rac hoped onto there broom and Nylo waved to Scarlet the dragon and shouted down “I wont be too long!”

I have no explanation. I don’t know why or how this came about. It just did. Maybe he’s just come back from trying to eat Red Riding Hood. Who knows? Certainly not me… Featured in Bits and Pieces

Byland Abbey is one of the old monisteries which were situated in Yorkshire. The spectacular Byland Abbey is one of the three great monasteries of the North. The ruins of this ancient monastic house stand beneath the beautiful Hambleton Hills. Byland was founded in 1134 and was built in the New Gothic style of architecture. It was famous in its day for sheep-rearing and exporting wool and its abbey church was amongst the most impressive in Cistercian Europe. Stunning features not to miss include the elaborate mosaic tiles in the south transept and the great rose window in the west front. You can also explore the remains of fishponds, dams and lakes built to drain the marshy land on which the abbey was built.

2009 Acrylic on Watercolour paper 24×18” Chasing Picasso was Featured in / Lifeline Group 07 Nov 09 When I was a young boy and was just starting to learn to paint…..I’m still learning….we as artists never stop learning. I believe when we stop learning we die…..maybe not phyically but the minute we stop learning …...our creativity and our imagination is dead…...I am amazed at some local artists here in the California central coast, and also in the City (San Franscisco) and other places that I have been, of some beautiful work as artists who’s work I have known for a long time and they are still using same technics and styles they learned in art school 20 years ago…....And I always hear them say I run out of ideas to paint….....OMG I have chased Picasso since I was a young boy maybe 7 learning to paint…...as a prolific artist/painter I always average 2 to 4 paintings a day the small ones 24×30”, and 18×24” if I paint any smaller i won’t be able to see what I’m painting. ......Not everyday of course…. / My favorite sizes are 60×48” and 54×84” and 48×48” These take me a little longer some as much as 100 hours each, of course I paint dozens of other works at same time. I would go crazy painting only one painting for 100 hours., I have to keep transferring my creative energy to other works or I would go bananas…..I have studied Picasso my whole career and his work still amazes me, and his creative output I believe is still unmatched as he was a prolific artist/painter

NOW ABOUT THIS GROUP
The Bits and Pieces Group although we initially started out accepting pieces of art
and writings that did not fit into any other Groups….we have grown and now feel
that we will accept any art and writings as long as they meet the Group’s guidelines
and are accepting “bits and pieces” that have been accepted by other Groups…
..for people new to writing… and anything else they may need a hand with….......where novices can post without feeling self conscious …..
.....a place where everyone with a love for expressions can meet and greet…...and say…”.Hey….....how can I finish this off..”
Or where ones upload has been exceeded….and a refuge is needed until they can post again….
This is just a “Pub on the Corner” type place…....
....we like to think of it as “BIPS” where our beeps of imagination become beautiful songs!
Is yours the next Masterpiece?
The voice that speaks to hearts?
An escape to moments of harmony?
you’ll never know until you’ve tried!
