  • Superwoman '08 by shanghaiwu

I meet a special woman / photograph/usually talk/take her home with me within my camera…..yes it is always a special moment but once I start working on an image /she as the person leaves my mind and the image becomes as another/ a symbol./ the moment of meeting and photographing still important in the process BUT the image /photograph takes another form in my mind . So now she is a symbol of the modern woman…....torn apart within a selfish world/daily decision making /trying to please everyone/wanting it all/career/children/husband/house/trip…...YES I want it all!/but at what sacrifice I wonder!

  • No Shame by Caroline Fournier

There are of course causes near and dear to my heart and this is one of them. This is the image that kept popping up in my head when I thought of AIDS. I was in high school in the 80’s and back then you were taught that AIDS was a homosexual disease and was barely glanced over in class. You closed your eyes to it; you did not talk about it. It was only a few short years later that it came to the forefront of our consciousness. I have personally been touched by AIDS (as we will all most likely be) through the lost of a friend and co-worker, Christopher, at the age of 36. For eight year wealthy got tax breaks and we didn’t. “Trickle down Economics” does not work. It was a tingle at best. Now i wonder if the family farm, rancher, logging camp and fishing boat owners and small business in general will survive? Write your Congressmen or anyone who cares. Now our food and toys come from overseas,China and toxic? “Made in America” is much more than a slogan!

  • The Peace lilly by Keithbotilier

The Lilly is a flower of Peace and this one is pure in shape and colour, I found it last May at the start of the summer it was nestled in a garden over looking the Bay at Brixam in Devon UK, When you stare in to it, you will understand what I mean, the garden was rugged surounding this flower which I found very poetic.

  • home by manicgirl

A typical house in rural Cuba. It might appear idyllic, but it is doubtful whether it can withstand a hurricane. However, due to the US enforced trade blockade against Cuba, building materials are hard to come by.

  • Support Is On The Way by Stephen J. Vattimo

Medium : Pen and Ink / Size : 11’’ x 15’’ / Year completed: 1987 This rendering is part of a body of artwork I did while I was in the Military, entitled ,” The Army Years”. One of my most exciting ride on a helicopter , was when I was serving in the U.S. Air force- Civil Air Patrol, we were helping the National Guard to figure out the fastest flight paths between hospitals, for future Air transportation of patients. / So while we were making a trial run, I was strapped in a side seat, with the door locked open, we flew parallel to the ground, the experience was awesome . / One of the things I loved about Civil Air Patrol was doing a lot of flying. / I served 9 years in the U.S. Army, during my 9 year of my service,I was a Combat Engineer, Anti tank Toe Missile Crewman, Combat Medic. I spent a lot of time in the field, and one thing that is important to the support of ground forces, is the pilots who fly the helicopters , for the helicopter delivers supplies, the mail, transport troops, air lifts wounded soldiers off the battlefield to the hospitals. / This is why I entitled this illustration, ” Support Is On The Way. “ Written by Stephen J. Vattimo
