Watch by Invicta
I have an old Smiths Enfield Bakelite clock at home which I got from my parents. / It doesn’t work, although I suspect it needs minimal work to make it do so. / It’s actually in fairly good condition. The clock-works are all well oiled & have that lovely old oily smell about them. / One of the things I love most about it is it’s beautiful art deco styling….. [No. 1 of series] SOLD – laminated print TOP TEN FINISH – Timepieces / Challenge – October 2009 Featured – Domestic Art – November 2009 /
The clock in my study.

As part of a challenge on my blog www.grahamettridge.blogspot.com , I had to take a photograph of something with the theme “Time”. I have been struggling with a lack of time recently. Almost as though I have been missing some time each day. My initial capture was of my wristwatch, but it just didn’t really achieve what I wanted. Then I came up with the idea of converting it into a jigsaw and removing some of the pieces – I was quite pleased with the final result.

A collection of pocket watches by lamplight, giving them a slightly vintage feel. I think the hands of time seem so go a little quicker as each year passes or at least it feels that way :) / Camera – Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 FEATURED IN – ‘Nostalgic Art & Photography’, ‘Focus and Lighting’ and ‘Numbers One to A Trillion’, ‘The Collectors Corner’ and ‘Pointers and Shooters’ Groups Made it onto the ‘Popular Art & Photography’ Page (1 day) :)) I took a series of shots by the same lamp light, shown below:

All handmade leather boots from the renaissance medieval period at a festival, how fascinating the work and the colors and even more fascinating to see that, then EVEN men were slaves to fashion in uncomfortable shoes and boots all in the name of looking hot.
Two old bottles with glass stoppers for storing chemicals. They were used by my late father when he was a dental technician many years ago. Now just used as objet d’art!

This group is designed to feature domestic art – that is to say objects (not people or pets) commonly found inside the home, but portrayed in a not-so-common way.
As long as the subject of the image is an inanimate object found INSIDE your home (and the quality is good), we’ll be happy to add it to our image gallery. Please remember to only submit your VERY BEST!
For a detailed explanation of what will and will not be accepted into this group’s gallery of images, check out the Acceptable Images for the Domestic Art Group Forum
We hold several group voting contests of various themes and display 12 new featured works per week in order to assist our members in gaining good exposure to the very best images submitted here.
What Our Members Think Of The Group…
“I absolutely love indoor artsy work. This is a wonderful group..I love going through all the photos…just amazing work.” – pmistric
“I also want to add what a great group this is to belong to. We can’t always get away to photograph the unusual or the exotic so it’s great to know that ones’ own surroundings can be the basis for creativity and to have a group where those efforts can be appreciated. I’ve certainly seen some amazing images composed with the common everyday item as the subject matter and suddenly the things I’ve taken for granted around home have taken on a brand new perspective. We look forward to continued enjoyment and participation in this group in the future. Thank you…” – LEFTHANDPRINTS
