One of the things that really excites me about being involved in any creative community is the way in which the ideas and work of others helps spur my own creativity. A perfect example of this that crossed my facebook inbox today is the showreel of one of my wife’s cousins. His name is Stephen Elliget, and I highly recommend you head over to check it out right here What impressed me the most is the variety of techniques and styles on display. That, and the fact that he’s only 19, so I can’t imagine where he’ll be at once he clocks in a few more years experience.

So I guess this is just a journal to vent. Yesterday I handed in my very last uni assignment ever! It is incredibly exciting but also very sad. Although I am looking forward to staring my career, I have really enjoyed uni and made some great friends so it’s a bit sad to leave. Tonight the 08 Graduates Design Exhibition so I am really excited about that too! :) I’ll post some photos soon! http://sixtyonedesign.com/ But now what? Well, my partner and I are moving from Newcastle to Brisbane for a bit of an adventure and to find work. Everything is crazy and planning and changing. We will be getting there on the 3rd on Jan 09. Being multi-talented my partner will hopefully get a job no problems but as most people in the field know… making a start in design can be difficult.
