Steps in the Federation Building, Melbourne Australia, made from granite from central Australia. Each slab is different and full of color … I could tell people thought I was crazy, down on my hands and knees photographing these as they tramped up and down and around me, wondering what on earth I was taking a photo of. But each slab has fantastic patterns and colors. Here I feel as if Im looking down on a bay where the waves are slowly and gently rolling in and breaking one after another on a seashore. /

Just after finishing taking pictures of the Kina, I was stumbling back over the rocks and came across a bright Rusty piece of ….... well something! Sun was setting, bright amazing colours were being shone back at me and thought – yeah! personally I like this image for it’s pin sharp detail and the contrast between the round bolt and the straight edge especially with the blues on top. sorry i still can’t tell you what it was… and I was looking at it!

This is the rusted out and green fungus covered bottom of a tin container that I use as a fire pit – knocked out a few holes in years gone by – I throw in some paper and wood and presto, have a nice fire out in my back patio in the cool evenings when the mosquitoes have gone off into hibernation. Over time its rusted away into this rather picturesque effect. I think it looks like some of those Google Earth shots Ive seen on my computer. / / Nikon D90 105mm macro

Beauty is everywhere…....in unexpected places… ..accidental art * (not created eg Graffiti) ....found in the streets…the junkyard…around buildings and perhaps in your own yard. *It should be abstract so its hard to guess what it is! Metal, paint, cement,glass,scratches and bumps, man-made materials on their own or perhaps enhanced by Mother nature with fungus, rust or mould. A photograph of Abstract art that could look like a painting and would look fabulous hanging in your home or office.
