This photo was taken in the evening sun on the edge of the fleet, near Weymouth. This boat has gradually turned to a rusty hull and the low light made it a must to photograph. The island in the distance is Portland and the right of the photograph is chesil beach.

Enys Dodnan is one of two prominant rock out-crops laying just off Land’s End. The other being The Armed Knight. Used by birds for nesting etc, Enys Dodnan is an imposing natural structure and looks amazing with it’s arch. This is taken from Pordennack point (on the coastal path), probably the best vantage point to capture this structure. NIKON D60 WITH 55-200MM NIKKOR VR LENS

A cloudy day in Northumberland, but a half hour before dusk signals the end of another day, the sun breaks through and casts a warm golden light over Bamburgh Castle.
St. Mary’s Lighthouse is on the tiny St. Mary’s Island, just north of Whitley Bay on the coast of North East England. / The lighthouse and adjacent keepers’ cottages were built in 1898 by the John Miller company of Tynemouth, using 645 blocks of stone and 750,000 bricks. / During the 19th century there was an inn, known as the ‘Square and Compass’, on the island, run by a Mr. George Ewen. In 1895, after complaints about rowdy customers trespassing on nearby land, the landlord , Lord Hastings, had Mr. Ewen and his family evicted from the island.

An entry for a poem competition. I hope this doesn’t count as publishing it, I am merely asking for advice.
Wheal Coates tin mine is south of St Agnes, on the cliffs near Chapel Porth. Wheal Coates mine at goes down to the sea and at high tide you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks through a grate on the floor of the ruin. The particularly high quality tin of St Agnes was formed by action between the granite and the complex rock around the area’s cliffs. Wheal Coates mine produced mainly tin, and is 200 feet above the sea. 1872 the mine opened when the Towanroath engine houses for winding and the stamps were built. Wheal Coates, Towanroath Shaft is now Listed Grade II. The pumping engine house of this tin and copper mine was fairly massive to pump out the deeper levels which ran out beneath the sea.
