Amazing what a long exposure, a change of WB and about 15 mins can do to a scene ….. I had been struggling with light seepage issues on my Cokin-type 10-stop filter (See Here ). I solved it by using a scrunchie (not sure what they’re called around the world – but see the pic far below – keeps my lens nice and cosy – LOL!) Nikon D80 / Sigma 10-20 @ 13mm / Hitech 10 stop (3.0) ND filter / f/9.5 30 secs ISO 100 WB Auto. Low-tech solution to light seepage: /

The Moray Firth. Taken from Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland. I’ve never really been a fan of HDR images. Most of them seem unreal to me. In saying that I have been playing with Photomatrix Pro for a while. Anyway, earlier this evening I was again inspired to revisit HDR after viewing this image by James Coard. What you see is a 4 shot HDR generated via Photomatrix. It was then tweaked in Nikon Capture NX2 and Photoshop. Many thanks for the inspiration James.
