Mixed media: Archival ink, acrylic, oil, collage on gessoed board. My diptypch artwork entry into the Hidden Treasures Postcard Exhibition, Cairns Regional Gallery Oct.23 – Nov.6 2009. / Sold by the silent bidding process for CRG’s Annual Fund Raiser. A melding of the tropical influence impressions upon me ie. the undulating landscape, rainforest, sea, organic colours, patterns and the vessel making that I do. / FEATURED in Acrylic Painting (26.10.09) / / and / Dimensions (24.10.09)
Graphite (2b to 8b) on A3 UPM Digi white 190gsm paper. My three beautiful kids – Lily 3, Mia 11 and James 5. Taken from three separate photos (it’s impossible to get a decent pic of all three of them together!). Mia decided to chop her hair off and dye it “Lily Allen” style so she stands out quite a bit. This was done for my husband to give to family overseas. Featured in “Creative Spirits of Queensland”, October 09.
Red Leaf Turnover © Vicki Ferrari Time to turn over a new leaf! And who said it had to be green! :) Opportunities abound endlessly if we do not close our mind! But sometimes we have to close our eyes to do so. And, sad though it may be, sometimes what is on the leaf when we turn it over, we can no longer participate in or see…. C’est La Vie! Not sure what sort of tree this is but love the colour of the leaves – so vibrant and alive! / Vicki Purchase Card / Purchase Laminated Print / Purchase Mounted Print / Tech / Nikon D70s / Nikkor 28-105mm / NEF-JPG / Editor / Photoshop (UL200910221529)

Having fun playing/experimenting with a kaleidoscope plug in and photoshop elements. Original image is my own artwork (see ‘Residual Thoughts’) I’ve been unwell for the last two weeks which has pulled me into a real low. I find that by digitally playing with my original art helps me feel brighter. I remember how great I felt when I did the original and by trying to improve on it, or enhance it really lifts my spirit. Feature Image – A Beautiful Blur Group / Feature Image – SEA Group The very moody instrumental piece of music by Fleetwood Mac “Albatross” comes to mind whenever I am on a beach watching waves. Combine the two and your heart sings with the rhythm of the surf as it reaches land and crashes to the beach. Listen to the music – Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Albatross’. I love watching waves, I love looking through them and seeing how the light plays with the colour. I will take pictures of waves until my last shuttering. I would love to learn how to grab the perfect formation. Something to aim for. / From a day at Cape Dissapointment State Park WA USA Aug 2008 Nikon D40X / Nikkor 70-300mm lens

- a butterfly pinned to my curtains dreams it can fly … a piece of pure self indulgence, it’s blurry and all wrong, but I like it …
Hard to beat that for pure, unrestrained, imaginative and downright fantastic inspiration…
