this work is based on my personal view of the para-psychological self-harm or self-destructive behavior. is represented as a personal space on were one could recreate a defined abstract process to achieve that harm but at an unconscious level, this as a reflection of a deep emotional distress or either trauma that may be abusing the person’s psyche at a high mental level but not interacting or dealing at a superficial level. this discomfort may attempt to suicide as other injuries, but only depending on what elements is associated the individual with. the person’s criteria of this definition are embedded to hidden fictitious environments as an underlying disorder of a motivated search for that punishment, repeating those experiences and relating them to that context. it is a repressed compulsion or memories from a past event (or happening) that is probably disseminated by the persons mind to a point of not remembering what was the initial cause or what exactly is he/she searching for, like an hypnotic conscious coma, caused to repeal or retreat for that subliminal risk of mental harm (retreat from reality itself). this could reach a rough realization of that fact and a bitter collapse of the emotional stability (depression, schizophrenia, violence, etc) or self-inflicted damage for a specific secondary purpose. as shown, the electric chair acts as the representation of that behavior, isolated and intangible by the glass that shows it like a mental reflection.
Inspired by a certain Busse Khukri design.
Your Own Unguarded Thoughts is an audio ritual improvised on the 7th of October 2009. This is the accompanying image. The title of this piece comes from a Buddhist text. GRIST – A Demon Sheen’s ritualistic dark ambient improvised collage soundtrack project – no instruments, no composition – where all the sounds are found sounds and all the images are found images. He makes these sounds by running sound-effects CDs through guitar pedals (delays, loops, distortions) and creating layered waves of emotional evocative real-time ceremonies and soundscapes of gnostic space. For each Gristian Ritual that he creates, A Demon Sheen creates an accompanying image. These are ALL DIGITAL COLLAGES from found images collected from around the world and all across the internets, so if anyone sees their art being incorporated into his works and doesn’t like it, we can easily take them down. Also, in this piece, he incorporates a fractal image generated in a fractal generator (he can’t remember which) – which of course is another kind of ‘found image’, albeit one generated through mathematical means. “I Remember” I remember it well / The first time that I saw / Your head around the door / ‘Cause mine stopped working I remember it well / There was wet in your hair / I was stood in the stairs / And time stopped moving I want you here tonight / I want you here / ‘Cause I can’t believe what I found / I want you here tonight / I want you here / Nothing is taking me down, down, down… I remember it well / Taxied out of a storm / To watch you perform / And my ships were sailing I remember it well / I was stood in your line / And your mouth, your mouth, your mouth… I want you here tonight / I want you here / ‘Cause I can’t believe what I found / I want you here tonight / I want you here / Nothing is taking me down, down, down… Except you my love. Except you my love… Come all ye lost / Dive into moss / I hope that my sanity covers the cost / To remove the stain of my love / Paper maché Come all ye reborn / Blow off my horn / I’m driving real hard / This is love, this is porn / God will forgive me / But I, I whip myself with scorn, scorn I wanna hear what you have to say about me / Hear if you’re gonna live without me / I wanna hear what you want / I remember december / And I wanna hear what you have to say about me / Hear if you’re gonna live without me / I wanna hear what you want / What the hell do you want? / Damien Rice

“If my theory of relativity is proven correct, Germany will claim me as a German and France will declare that I am a citizen of the world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say I am a German and Germany will say I am a Jew.” / - Albert Einstein.

THE DARK CELL
dark and dirty, esoteric, weird, deliriously wonderful and delightfully horrific art that exists between the boundaries of the norms this world holds onto so tightly. A haven for the artists and writers whom delve deep into the murky depths of their own freakishness and pull out some delicious worms of creativity and general dark brilliance for us all to feast upon.
But be warned, we vultures and perverts of the dark only like nice juicy worms brimming with greatness and promise. So a word of warning, keep those little worms you pulled out in 2 minutes to yourself, we don’t want art poisoning… hospital bills can be such a pain/we don’t want to risk going into an NHS hospital.
Also we children of general insanity like recycling, so keep this mentally questionable machine rolling and re-feed us some of your older great work.
