Oil on canvas (commissioned) This very special painting was commissioned by my dear friend, Bridget. She saw my first bluebell painting and wanted one of her own to commemorate her beloved father and husband. She kindly gave me permission to write the story of this painting. She lost her father to cancer several years ago and her husband was tragically killed in a road accident only a few weeks ago. She trusted me to paint a scene of the two of them walking in bluebell fields. I remembered the story of the Pilgrim’s Progress from years ago and adapted the story to depict them on their way to the ‘light’ (Heaven). Her father stands on the road waiting for Peter to catch up to him before they move off together into the distant light. The road is not easy and there are dangerous points to cross before they reach the beautiful bluebell fields in the distance. In the left hand corner sits Sparky, Peter’s beloved little dog. She is very old but not yet ready to take the road, so she waits till her time comes to cross over the river and join her master. It was such an honour for me to paint this picture for you, Bridget and every brushstroke was made with all my love. May the blessings of light be upon you, / Light without and light within, / And in all your comings and goings, / May you ever have a kindly greeting / From them you meet along the road. May the road rise to meet you. / May the wind be always at your back. / May the sun shine warm upon your face. / May the rains fall soft upon your fields. / And until we meet again, / May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
This picture is dedicated to the memory and courage of my very dear friend Tami Lee and all those who also lost her battle with Breast Cancer. / On Aug 16,2006 I was awakened at 2am by this image. The urge to put this on paper was virtually uncontrollable. Every time I shut my eyes to try and get back to sleep, this image would appear. I tried several times but to no avail. At 6am I started to sketch out my vision. By noon that day it was complete. This picture would not have been created if it weren’t for the strong will of Tami, my dear sweet angel. / Thank you for your support , strength, and your courage as we battled cancer together. / 100% of All Proceeds from the sale of these items go to the American Cancer Society in honor of those we have lost. Remember…...The memory of their courage and strength will live in in us forever. / This colored pencil work was done on 11”x14” bristol board.

I saw this picture in a magazine. I don’t know who the photographer is nor do I know who the model is. I cut the picture out and added it to my collection. when I finished drawing it I liked it even more. So I drew another version of it as if entrapped in metal. The piece took on a different feel altogether. See for yourself. This was drawn on 12×12 (30.5×30.5 cm) Strathmore Acrylic Linen Canvas Paper. I used graphite to sketch and developed the rest of the piece with water color pencils.

Acrylic painting on watercolour paper, with highlights of gold, of a beautiful Yellow Sunflower. This is a gift for a dear friend’s daughter who is turning 18. She adores Sunflowers. A little poem that will accompany this has also been written for her. I remember the day I nursed you to sleep / Not even a sound, not even a peep. / Who would believe 18 years has now flown / And into a beautiful woman you have now grown! Linda

2009 Acrylic on Watercolour paper 24×18” Chasing Picasso was Featured in / Lifeline Group 07 Nov 09 When I was a young boy and was just starting to learn to paint…..I’m still learning….we as artists never stop learning. I believe when we stop learning we die…..maybe not phyically but the minute we stop learning …...our creativity and our imagination is dead…...I am amazed at some local artists here in the California central coast, and also in the City (San Franscisco) and other places that I have been, of some beautiful work as artists who’s work I have known for a long time and they are still using same technics and styles they learned in art school 20 years ago…....And I always hear them say I run out of ideas to paint….....OMG I have chased Picasso since I was a young boy maybe 7 learning to paint…...as a prolific artist/painter I always average 2 to 4 paintings a day the small ones 24×30”, and 18×24” if I paint any smaller i won’t be able to see what I’m painting. ......Not everyday of course…. / My favorite sizes are 60×48” and 54×84” and 48×48” These take me a little longer some as much as 100 hours each, of course I paint dozens of other works at same time. I would go crazy painting only one painting for 100 hours., I have to keep transferring my creative energy to other works or I would go bananas…..I have studied Picasso my whole career and his work still amazes me, and his creative output I believe is still unmatched as he was a prolific artist/painter
