These are historic houses in my area. There is a big mill right behind my house and these are the stone houses the workers used to live in. Some are still beautifuly restored and make my neighborhood quaint and historic. They even have walking tours of the area! / They were part of the Stillwater Mills in Esmond, RI It is a 11×14 acrylics on canvas. I did this from an old historic black and white picture I found in a story about the mill.

Times Square is the first painting completed in a series called “Americana”. This painting offers a fun, vibrant perspective of Times Tower, New York City. The original watercolor painting is 30×22” and painted on 300 lb arches paper. At the end of the 19th century, New York City had expanded up to 42nd street and the area was becoming the center of the city’s social scene. In 1904, the New York Times built the Times Tower on 43rd street just off Broadway to replace the premises in Downtown. The square facing the building was called the Longacre square, but was soon renamed Times Square.
Pastel on watercolour paper. We discovered this charming cottage while on holiday in Sussex last September. There was a big “For Sale” sign posted in front, and one can only imagine what the asking price might be. It is one of those story book cottages one can only dream about owning. /

Princess Park in is a landscape watercolor painting of the fountain in a lovely park in downtown Brandon Manitoba where the Prince Edward Hotel used to be situated. The Prince Eddward Hotel was an old hotel in Brandon, Manitoba, that had significant historical value, but it was so dilapitated that it was beyond restoration. Something needed to be done with it so the city chose to tear it down and rebuild the area into a park. Stones from the original hotel were used to build features in the park such as this fountain. The 18×24” original Watercolor “Princess Park” is painted on 140 lb Arches watercolor paper and is available by contacting the artist, Joy Skinner.
The original was an unfinished charcoal pencil drawing on cartridge paper that I did when I was about 21 so I decided to enhance it in Photoshop by flood-filling in a green wall and a blue sky through the window panes as it is no longer possible to finish this charcoal drawing. / This was drawn many years ago while sitting in the stairwell of my student flat in Limerick, Ireland. Unfortunately I never got around to finishing it as I no longer have access to that building. So I improvised with a little Photoshop. / Example of a framed print: /
The coal drops on the river Tees estuary, in the 1830’s. I love the daunting and weird, distant grey structures, ready to drop the coal upon the collier (coal) ships. My version of another Thomas Hair. Watercolour and pencil. I have another version of this one, where I changed the overall hue.
Pastel on Canson drawing paper, A2. Mount of Beatitudes church, Galilee Sea, Israel. / This church is located in a beautiful area near the Galilee Sea. We used to pass by while traveling to the shore and the church used to catch my eye. Most of all I liked the beautiful lighting of the sunset. /
