Dubbed “Hell Bound”, this photograph is a collaborative effort with a very good friend of mine who became interested in shooting a couple of photographs for the Rugged Rig Series. I took his photo and treated it to the Rugged Rig style of Photoshopping. I’m grateful to my friend for allowing me to have this photo to doctor up for the series. I hope you enjoy this shot.
Kevins watch, my Redbubble friend who introduced me to this site, who is now on his second month of borrowing my Nikon 105mm VR lens of which this shot is taken with.

On a road trip we drove through this bridge and I was able to get my camera out and just snapped pictures all the way through. To my amazement there were no cars traveling this bridge while we drove though. OK…I won’t lie, we drove through once and turned around so I could take my pictures. McCullough Memorial Bridge spans Coos Bay on the Oregon Coast, Highway 101, Oregon, USA, North America. A few hours after a couple of my colleagues declared that power lines were most definitely the most boring sight in the world, I decided to see if I could find an interesting perspective. I drove out to a great lookout point, about 40 kilometres (25 miles) away from the city centre. There is a long, deep valley here and although I was hoping for a dramatic sunset, there was no flaring colour to work with. Then I suddenly realised, as dusk faded, that all I had to do was swap my 18-125mm lens for my 70-300mm lens and use the wonderful series of shapes and silhouettes that surrounded the gentle arc of the power lines, against the monochrome of the sky. By shooting from this angle and keeping the frame asymmetrical, I was able to highlight the shapes, while allowing the pylons to disappear into the distance. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F5.6, 1/45 sec, ISO 800, focal length 300mm. 73-3897

A new “incentive” on a fence on Kampa in Prague – as far as I could gather, people bring their padlock(s) and lock them on this fence as a token of their love for each other… Or something like that. Perhaps these three are for a family of three… Nikon D90

Got Metal? Join the Junktion!
Once upon a time, out of the hundreds of groups on RB, if you searched “metal” you would not find a place for subjects of this literal term. Until now…
Metallic Junktion is place for photos or artworks featuring metal textures and/or metal objects. Dusty, dirty or shiny. Old and junky or brand, spankin’, new… at all stages of life. This is the place for those oddball shots of tin cans, chains or pipes that might not quite fit elsewhere but are just begging to be seen!
We will be featuring works submitted to the group. Keep an eye out for the announcement of new features in the forums!
