It was still snowing when I left the Vet’s in Owego, NY and all they had was a dusting on the ground. I capture this image after I crossed the New York line into Cadis, PA. One hour later most of it had melted away. State College had 8” of snow and it’s a record breaker for this time of year. Way to early for snow. This old boat sits just off the shore of Permeter Creek in Ashville, Alabama. It struck me today that it looked as if the color in the fall leaves of the dogwood tree had dripped down to coat the boats surface. Taken with a Sony A200 Digital SLR using a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens with circular polarized filter attached.
A small barn sits in front of a much larger barn on a small farm, seemingly offering protection to the larger structure in the rear. / Photographed in Montgomery, NY, USA /

Split reflection of an old fish trap fence stretching out into what is left of the water in the Coorong National Park. This fence is located between Salt Creek and meningie on the main Coorong Road. The water in the Coorong is still dangerously low and acidification of the soil is evident in the area of this fence. Shot in RAW and converted to B&W in Photoshop CS3. Canon 400D – 17-85 lens with CIR Polarising filter.
The old Community Center in Divine Corners, NY, USA, once a meeting place for the many farm owners in the area. The farms are mostly gone, not much remains in the area, hence nature has decided to run all further meetings at the Community Center! Mother Nature enjoys being the Chairperson! /
This letterbox is on a lovely cottage wall a few doors down from where my parents live in Worcestershire.

A old car my friend took me to after I was talking to him about how I wanted to find old an car that was abandoned in the middle of nowhere and was being swallowed by nature. He knew exactly what I was looking for.
the wreckage of an old car in a savage river of gold, in france. the hungry green riverside is slowly eating the rests.
A ruined house in Oradour sur Glane. June 10th 1944 this peaceful community was shattered when German SS troops arrived, gathered all the 642 inhabitants, killed them all and, after looting, destroyed every building. The ruins were preserved by General de Gaulle “to bear witness for the rest of mankind to the consequences of the barbarity of war”
Canon 50D | ISO 100 | f22 | 20.0 | 10mm | nd400 About Back. I got back from Townsville after a lengthy delay at the airport on Sunday night. Unfortunately, I managed to get a bad stomach bug before I left and I’ve been pretty crook ever since. So I finally felt good enough to take a look at some images tonight from the trip. I didn’t get a lot of images to post, but more happy snaps than anything. Processing I envisioned this image as Black and White from the get go. So I just applied an IR Black and White preset, some clarity, soft light in CS4, contrast and an upsharp mask.
Once upon a time, lovers met in the old gazebo, stealing moments together. Now abandoned, nature has come calling, giving this old gazebo all the love it needs! / Photographed in Winterton, NY, USA /

Nature’s strength is gathered as it make a robust attempt to cover up an abandoned Front End Loader and waste materials tossed in the bucket. She planted wildflowers in the earth gathered in the bucket, tossed in some creeping grasses during summer months, and has now piled her leaves in, pulling the elements as far as she could over the human toss away! /

One caught a few months back, and one of my favorites of the day, but for some reason I overlooked it. Was the first day I purchased my new Wide Angle lens for the 5D Mk II, full frame. I ended up buying the 16-35mm f2.8 L II, and she is a beauty! All I need now if the time to get out and capture more of the beautiful mother nature at work :) The wreck of the “SS Dicky”, at Dicky Beach, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. She isn’t looking so good these days, as the sea rips away at the remains every tide. Canon 5D Mk II, 16mm. Available very large and best viewed Large!
Beautiful pink, and blue morning glory flowers growing over a park bench in October, 2009 in Misiones I in Cuautitlán.

This group is dedicated to searching out and finding Gaia (Mother Nature) in action.
From a sidewalk slab split in two by the slow growth of tree roots to a crumbling building covered in vines, slowly being eaten alive from within.
I want to see all your shots depicting Nature triumphing over mankind’s mess.
To clarify:
A rusty car sitting in a parking lot or just an abandoned house: not good examples
A rusty car sitting in a overgrown field or an abandoned house with a tree growing from it: great examples of Nature’s Reclamation
And of course, a waterfall or a tree is beautiful but does not follow the theme.
