Taken at the George Tindale Gardens, Kalista Victoria / Hydrangea (pronounced /haɪˈdreɪndʒ(i)ə/, common names Hydrangea and Hortensia) is a genus of about 70-75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia (China, Korea, Japan, the Himalayas, and Indonesia) and North and South America. Japan. Most are shrubs 1-3 m tall, but some are small trees, and others lianas reaching up to 30 m by climbing up trees. They can be either deciduous or evergreen, though the widely cultivated temperate species are all deciduous. / Hydrangea flowers are produced from early spring to late autumn; they grow in flowerheads (corymbs or panicles) at the ends of the stems. In many species, the flowerheads contain two types of flowers, small fertile flowers in the middle of the flowerhead, and large, sterile bract-like flowers in a ring around the edge of each flowerhead. Other species have all the flowers fertile and of the same size. / Wikipedia / D300. Lens- 105mm 2.8 micro ED VR / 105mm /1/50s, f/8.0, ISO: 280

Well a BIG storm over the Dandenongs on Saturday Night, here is a shot showing some lightning not hitting the top of the mountain but running along the top and lighting up the Sky. Shot with a CANON 500D at 1am
The Dandenong Ranges are a set of low mountain ranges, rising to 633 metres at Mount Dandenong, east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
A unique environment, The Dandenongs comprise a mixture of English gardens, rainforest and towering mountain ash. Home to the popular steam heritage railway ‘Puffing Billy’, beautiful forests, mist, wild animals, exotic birds, mist, occasional snow, did I say mist, and people who just love to get back to nature. A photographer’s paradise! At the base of the Dandenongs is Dandenong Ranges National Park most famous for it’s 1000 steps at the Ferntree Gully end.
