As sure as the sun rises each morning, so it is with God’s Great Faithfulness to watch over, protect and provide for each of us, His children. The dawning of a perfect Autumn day as the sun creeps up through the mist that has settled over Thompson’s Creek, on the historic Charlemont sheep station. Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version) / New International Version (NIV) 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, / for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; / great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; / therefore I will wait for him. The words to the wonderful old hymn penned back in 1923, still stand testament today! Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; / There is no shadow of turning with Thee; / Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; / As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! / Great is Thy faithfulness! / Morning by morning new mercies I see. / All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; / Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, / Sun, moon and stars in their courses above / Join with all nature in manifold witness / To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth / Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; / Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, / Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

Antelope-Corkscrew Canyon, shows a powerful ray of light coming through the cavern top and illuminating the cave walls in brilliant orange-reddish colors. Antelope Canyon is so unique, it has also become known as The Corkscrew, Corkscrew Canyon, Upper Antelope, Wind Cave, or The Crack. Upper Corkscrew Canyon is located around the Navajo Reservations and usually requires a jeep to get you there. This location is just outside Page, Arizona. 5.6.09 – Taken with a Fujifilm 10mp s8100. A beautiful evening spent ‘pootling’ around the Langdale valley. This a shot across Blea Tarn, which is owned by the National Trust, looking towards the Langdales – taken around 8.30 in the evening.
Caught the sunset reflection between the two lighthouses that make up the entry to the Muskegon, Michigan harbor. Muskegon is known as “Port City” because ocean-going vessels often will make stops here on their way to and from Chicago. Muskegon was once a major port used by the lumbering industry. Logs would be cut in the winter in upper Michigan and floated in the spring down the rivers to Muskegon Lake where they would be loaded onto boats headed for Chicago. Much of Chicago was rebuilt after the “great fire” with Michigan White Pine. Featured in the wonderful group Real Life Art / Thank you so much!

Sunrise Over Algebuckina Bridge Algebuckina Bridge is about 55kms south of Oodnadatta on the Oodnadatta Track – South Australia. / It’s a really beaut bridge as you can see. At 578mtrs it’s a pretty long bridge too. The longest in South Australia. It’s a good thing that it is a long bridge because it crosses the widest and longest river – the Neales River – on the Oodnadatta Track, not, mind you, that the Neales River often has a lot of water in it. / Algebuckina Bridge was opened in 1892 as part of the Old Ghan Railway. It wasn’t, as legend has it, originally designed for the Murray River and when found to be too short, built where it now stands instead. It was purpose designed and built for this very spot. / What isn’t an Outback myth though is the story of the wrecked car that is still there just to the side of the old track on the southern end of the bridge. It seems that the the car was stopped by a flooding Neales River. With no hope of making a crossing, the enterprising occupants of the vehicle reckoned, not unreasonably, that they could drive over the rail bridge. Bit bumpy maybe, but there is a pub at Oodnadatta and it’d be a long wait for the river to go down and the mud to dry, so, why not give it a go? / Problem was though, they forgot to check the train time table ….. / There’s a famous waterhole just the other side of the Oodnadatta Track near the Algebuckina Bridge. It’s called, you won’t be surprised to learn, the Algebuckina Waterhole. / Algebuckina Waterhole is good place to camp apparently. Not that we’d know. We decided to camp right up close to the bridge – in fact, if you look very hard you can see out campsite in this image – and we never got around to checking out the waterhole. We did get to check out swarms of very unpleasant insects, a short but wild storm, complete with thunder lightning and rain, wind, and a not very well cooked meal of curried gritty chicken and unpleasant insects. We also had to quickly put out our fire – see wind above – using dirt and sand – see gritty chicken and insect curry above. / But we did get to see the Algebuckina Bridge – the longest bridge in South Australia – in the light of a not too foul sunrise. Not bad eh? A close up of one of the pylons lining Cramond Causeway in Edinburgh. This is my first ever experiment at (what I think is) HDR. I took 3 different exposures and merged them using Photomatrix basic, then played around with the tone mapping.
This image was shot on location in Glencoe, Scottish Highlands. / It was early morn and the sun was still rising slowly above the mountains, creating rays and colour of light of a magical quality. This is my first post for a while, as I have been out of action somewhat, but I hope to make up for it. Canon EOS 400D, 35-80mm, single image shot. Tripod, cable release and AP mode.
