Moon So Bright on a Winters Night! by Pamela Jayne Smith
just leaving the shops just as dusk was drawing in and we saw the most fantastic moon – it was huge, round and perfect – did I have the camera did I heck! SO without breaking the speed limits we headed back home along the back lane and still seeing it looking lovely! By the time we got home though it was a tad higher and looked so small again in the fields so I opted to take the shots in the garden! I was pleased with the results and can safely say I am actually happy with my second proper attempt at moons!! Although in this instance do wish I had the camera with me as was spectacular before :( Could this be my “once in a blue moon shot?” or the last full moon of the year!! canon 400d sigma lens on full zoom P programme iso 200 used a tripod As Is straight from the camera

Back in The Day by Brent Monger
Old work trucks at the Gold King Mine Ghost Town, Jerome, Arizona. Pentax K20D / Pentax 18-250mm / FL 47.5 / 1/125 sec / F6.7 / ISO 800 / Shot in B&W / Raw-to-Jpeg (Unedited) I’m very surprised that this one came out! This was the only shot I did of this image & I forgot to change some settings from the previous shot I did. I was kinda in a hurry because they were closed and I know that they normally close & lock the gate. I didn’t use a tripod and shake reduction was turned off. I had it set to Sensitivity priority with Exposure compensation set to 0.5. I’m truly amazed that I…uhhhh…the camera…”Got it right!!!”

Winter Sun on the Beach by David Friederich
The sky cleared, and the sun shone on the fresh fallen snow. Beach grasses showed yellow through the white blanket, their seeds rich food sources for hungry winter seed eating birds and small mammals. The waters of the Strait contrasted against the pure whiteness of the snow, and the mountains of the British Columbia Mainland in the distance showed their omnipresence. The beach logs, seem like pastries covered with icing. Nikon D2Xs, Nikkor 28-70 mm lens at f52, ISO 200, 1/125, f22.

Purple Iris Another Angle by Pamela Jayne Smith
The same Iris in macro and another angle this was still when I was getting used to my sigma lens and finding out how to work it at it’s best – this was also taken in a hanger so there was no lighting inside, and no flash fired and manual focus it’s all about experimenting and seeing what works thanks to all the positive comments you have made I feel that maybe this is a worthy “pair” now! Artistically Inclined by Blueccs
This was beautiful to shoot. But it was even more fun using all the wrong settings just to see what would happen. This is the result straight out of the camera. For me the fun is that I have to do all of my special effects in camera. I do not have photo shop or anything like it. So I am challanged to do in camera what others do post preduction. Now this is what I call a photographer’s dream. exposure time 1/25 / aperture 3.625 / light source flourescent / ISO 80
