Taken at Hermanus, South Africa, during whale season.
8 October 2009, Duranbah… The sun creeps over the horizon… / The warmth begins to radiate through the morning air… / The water glistens of the glassy surface of the waves… / The first touch of the water brings a shiver… / What a way to start the day… / One morning in spring! (Canon G9 + water housing)
EOS 30D
This is a shot of a bird in a tropical seahore. /
This is one of my most recent paintings, concieved from memories of surfing this great spot – alone sometimes, and the bright sunsets in the Santa Barbara channel.
I really like the way you can see thru the lip of the wave. / Sandy Beach – Hawaii / Canon 20D / SPL water housing

This is a bit different from my usual stuff…..but change is good…..for a little while, anyway. / / This shot is actually a mistake – thought I had zoomed out when infact I hadn’t and at first glance I assumed I had missed what I was aiming for….this is what I found when I put my images on the computer….I like it. / / I haven’t done a thing to it – this is the 100% original file…. / / / / / / / / /
TO ASSURE TO BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THE FINAL MOVEMENT SURFERS WANT,IVE TAKEN THIS CAPTURE EARLY THIS MORNING ,
Taken @ Burleigh Heads National Park, (one of my fav places in the world).
when the swell rises at victor harbor, on the south coast of south australia, any where you you like to visit will give you an eyefull, of scenes like this. / this is granite island, looking northeast towards, pt elliot and middleton.
These might not be large waves but ocean waves have a magnificent power no matter their size.
Situated on the Southern Ocean side of Cape Leeuwin in the far south west of Western Australia, close to the small town of Augusta and some 400+ kms south of Perth. It can get very rough here despite it’s sheltered position and two other, smaller jetties, have been destroyed by storms in past years. / Camera Sony Alpha 350 dslr / 18-70 lens with nd filter / f8 at 1/125 sec / hand held
7 November 2009, Duranbah In this world there are some people who are really good at what they do, and then there are the rest… Mick Fanning, currently in the running to be the 2009 World Surfing Champion… Canon 5D Mark II, 500 mm, ISO 320, 1/6400, Aperture Priority ~ Shot in RAW, converted to JPEG, Straight from camera
This shot was from our stay this summer at White Point Beach Lodge in White Point, Nova Scotia, Canada. The mornings started out foggy but ended in beautiful sunshine with these chairs quickly being claimed by sunbathers. I think it was more interesting in the fog… :)
West Point, Marrawah, Tasmania Nikon D90 / Nikkor 18-200mm lens
Hard to believe from this photo but we are at one of the top surfing locations in the south of Western Australia – a leg of the world surfing tour is held here, but not at the time of year I took this! We were having a few days holiday with our son and his wife in Margaret River back in March and were staying just a few minutes away from this spot. It was actually chock full of people but they were all behind me and looking the other way. / It was early evening and the light was just perfect for photography and i took full advantage of it! / Camera Sony Alpha 350 dslr / 18-70 lens with nd filter / f8 @ 1/125 sec / hand held
6 November 2009 Duranbah NSW/QLD Border Canon 5D Mark II, 1/4’, ISO 50, f22, 24mm – perfect camera setting to highlight all the dust spots on my precious machine and pretty well destroy an image that I really liked ~ this one was taken in B&W and has had very little done to it other than adding some noise which seems to have masked the hideous spots! I guess that’s what you get when you use your camera pretty much solely in a high salt air environment – looks like it might be time to go to the cleaners! Anyway, I like this image, capturing the leftovers from a storm the previous night, the air was hanging heavy, still, hot and humid ~ summer’s on the way ~ I’d love your thoughts, cheers Paul

As the name implies, this group is for art of waves, of all sorts, whether crashing on a beach, cliffs or even an interpretation of waves-sound waves for instance.
Group banner

The group stands at 250 pages and over the coming week I will be removing images unsuitable for this group. I will also try to reduce down the number of pages to give everyone the chance of having work viewed. Old images on page 200 are unlikely to be viewed often. By leaving and rejoining the group members get the chance to refresh their wave portfolio.
The only rule is that there are no rules, as long as Waves are included, obviously!
Now get out there, get your feet wet and bring me some wave action, Baby!
