wolf montage
Hand drawn, Prisma colored pencils. / From “The Jungle Book”. These are Mowgli’s adoptive Wolf parents. Hoping to finish an illustrated book one day in honor of Rudyard Kipling’s masterpiece “The Jungle Books”
Had a Howling great time painting this… even though it is an over painted media pose for wolves. “Hunter’s Moon” is an oil and acrylic painting, painted on gallery wrapped artist portrait canvas. / 18”X24” / Thanks for viewing my art. / This original is for sale.
Playing with my wolf drawing with the use of that good old digital magic(smile)... layering of several copies of graphite drawing and acrylic painting…. /
A Dark Wolf’s head with the emphasis on the eye. (ignore that diagonal band through the image, below is how the image should look.) /
An older piece, Done when I believe my “Spirit Guide” was aloud by me to show himself in my art.
Digital art in abstract realism style inspired by the wolves that howl in the night near my home. :) This art work has been FEATURED in the “Live and Let Live” group AND in the “Wolves in Art” group! :)
A cropped section of this art work to try and show detail: / Digital art inspired by the friendly coyote that comes to my back door looking for a handout. :) this artwork has been FEATURED in the “Wolves in Art” group!
In 1982 through 1994, the grey wolf was listed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Changes in legal protections, land-use and population shifts to urban areas have stopped the decline in wolf population. Additionally, recolonization and reintroduction programs have increased wolf populations in Western Europe and the western United States. As a result, in 1996, the IUCN reduced the risk status of the gray wolf to being of least concern. Today, the conservational status of wolves varies greatly. They are protected in some areas, hunted for sport in others, or may be subject to extermination as perceived threats to livestock and pets. Despite not being at risk for extinction any longer, local populations of wolves are still threatened. A portion of the proceeds from these endangered animals cards and prints will go to the World Wildlife Fund. / This is a 5×7 marker, pencil, and chalk pastel on 60 lb. illustration paper. There will be a total of nine (maybe more) 5×7 inch pastels. Each of the originals is for sale for $350 (matted plus shipping) with $100 of that going to the World Wildlife Fund. Republished 11-09. Digital collage inspired by the wolf packs that howl at night near my home. I see lone wolves sometimes late at night running across the field behind my house. Coyotes come up closer, right to the back door, searching for food. I live in an area rich in beautiful wildlife which inspires my art and writing and uplifts my spirits each day. :) This work has been FEATURED in the Wolves in Art group AND in the Digital Art Compilations group!
THIS SHOT OF TACOMA STANDING OVER SMOKEY, WAS SO PRESIOUS I COULDN’T RESIST TAKING THE PHOTO. AT THIS STAGE IN THEIR LIVES, THEY WERE ONLY ABOUT 5 OR 6 WEEKS OLD. I’LL NEVER FORGET THE FEELINGS I HAD WHEN I SAW THESE PUPPIES BE BORN UNDER MY BED IN VACAVILLE CALIFORNIA. ACTUALLY, I DIDN’T GET TO WITNESS THE ACTUAL BIRTH, SINCE DEOGEE NEVER MADE A SOUND AS EACH PUP WAS WHELPED, BUT I DID GET TO SEE EACH ONE JUST MINUTES AFTER BIRTH. I GOT TO PICK THEM UP ONLY 20 MINUTES AFTER EACH ONE WAS BORN. THERE WERE THREE ALL TOGETHER. TACOMA WAS FIRST BORN, SMOKEY WAS SECOND AND SASHA MARIE WAS THE THIRD AND FINAL PUP. ALL OF MY WOLF HYBRIDS HAVE PASSED ONTO THE RAINBOW BRIDGE AND I HOPE ARE WAITING FOR ME TO JOIN THEM. TACOMA IS THE ONLY ONE STILL ALIVE, MUCH TO MY JOY, HE IS JUST OVER 12 YEARS OLD NOW. MY SMOKEY DIED JUST SHORT OF HIS EIGHTH BIRTHDAY, UNEXPECTEDLY, FROM A TUMOR ON HIS HEART THAT BURST HIS AORTA. I WAS DEVISTATED TO SAY THE LEAST. UPDATE, TACOMA PASSED AWAY ON APRIL 22, 2009 OF CANCEROUS TUMORS. HE LIVED THE LONGEST OF THE THREE PUPS. HE ACTUALLY MADE IT 13 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS. I WISH MY SMOKEY FOURS SOCKS HAD MADE IT THAT LONG. I FEEL LIKE I GOT ROBBED WHEN HE DIED JUST BEFORE HE TURNED 8 YEARS OLD. I WAS HOPING FOR AT LEAST 12 YEARS AND I WOULD HAVE GIVEN ANYTHING FOR HIM TO MAKE IT UNTIL HE WAS 13-15 YEARS. BUT, I GUESS IT WASN’T MEANT TO BE. I THANK GOD THOUGH, FOR GIVING ME THE OPPERTUNITY TO SHARE MY LIFE WITH THESE SUCH BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. I USED MY CANON EOS 620 WITH MY 100-300MM TELEPHOTO AF MACRO LENS AND AT THIS TIME, I WAS USING KODAKOLOR 100ASA FILM.
Digital art in abstract realism style. Inspired by Baker’s Park where I escape to see wildlife at times. Also inspired by Lake Texoma’s Hagerman Wildlife Refuge and the animals that roam free there….located near my home in Texas.
(Republished 11-09) Digital photomontage painting inspired by the wolf packs that serenade me some nights very near my home. This art work has been FEATURED in the group, “Wolves in Art” twice. This work also placed in Top Ten in the “Wolves Interacting” Challenge hosted by the Wolves in Art Group. This art work also placed in Top Ten in the Wolves and Wild Kin’s group challenge, “Two of a Kind”.
Three wolves and fall foliage make this a beautiful shirt for nature lovers and wolf lovers too.
Three images merged in Photoshop and a little texture added.
Totem wolf symbols belong to those who truly understand the depth of passion that belong to this noble creature. The Wolf is a representative of deep faith, and profound understanding. Those who have the wolf as their totem animal are naturally eloquent in speech, and also have knack for creative writing. / / All artwork is created by using Bryce, Poser, CS3 Software. She out shines the stars that lie in the velvet, blackberry night sky / She awakens the beast inside / She is my late night moon / The silent ears that hear the cries of my soul…. Here the link to the poem / His Late Night Moon – Hermisunderstood Monster
A FRIEND OF MINE, THAT I’VE KNOWN SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER, STOPS BY THE HOUSE EVERY NOW AND THEN AND WE BREAK OUT THE MEDICINAL HERB AND HAVE A SMOKE. SO, WHILE I WAS PREPARING TO ROLL THE DUBIOUS DUBEY, MY FRIEND GRABBED MY KODAK EASYSHARE Z710 AND STARTED TAKING PHOTOS OF MY KIDS SITTING ON MY BED. SO, WHEN I SAW THIS SHOT, I LASSOWED IT FROM THE SHOT IT WAS ORIGINALLY IN AND CUT IT. THEN I WENT INTO MY DIGITAL ABSTRACT FILE AND PULLED UP AN IMAGE THAT STARTED OUT AS FUNGOUS ON THE SURFACE OF A POND OUT ON GRIZZLY ISLAND IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. I PASTED THE IMAGE OF ME AND MY KIDS IN A POSSITION THAT IT ACTUALLY FIT WITH THE BACKGROUND IMAGE. I DON’T OFTEN GET SHOTS LIKE THIS OF ME AND MY KIDS, BECAUSE I’M USUALLY THE ONE BEHIND THE CAMERA AND TO SET UP THE CAMERA WITH A SHUTTER TIMER, I DON’T ALWAYS GET THE IMAGE I WANT AND BY THE TIME I’VE TAKEN 4 OR 5 TRIES, I’M EXHAUSTED SO I GIVE UP. BUT, I COULDN’T RESIST THIS SHOT BECAUSE, “CHEWY IS SO AFFECTIONATE”, HE LOVES HIS ATTENTION, GETTING AND GIVING. WHEN I GIVE THEM TREATS AND I ASK CHEWY IF HE LOVES ME, HE LEANS FORWARD AND GIVES ME A LITTLE PECK ON THE LIPS OR NOSE. AT LEAST HE KEEPS BIG SLOPY TONGUE LICKS TO A MINIMUM. CHEWY IS A 75% SIBERIAN, 25% TIMBER WOLF AND SASHA IS A MIX OF BLACK LAB AND GERMAN SHEPHERD. CHEWY WILL GET TO BE ABOUT 80 POUNDS BY THE TIME HE IS FULLY GROWN, RIGHT NOW HE IS ONLY 20 MONTHS OLD. SASHA IS ALREADY OVER 4 YEARS OLD AND SHE DIDN’T GET BIG AT ALL. IN FACT, SHE STAYED SMALL FOR THE BREED DOGS THAT SHE IS. I THINK SHE MAY HAVE BEEN THE RUNT OF THE LITTER. BUT, THAT’S OK, HER SIZE HASN’T STOPPED HER FROM DOING THE SAME THINGS CHEWY DOES,,,,EXCEPT FOR MAYBE JUMPING UP ONTO THEIR DESK. SHE USES A RAMP, UNTIL I MOVE IT SO SHE WON’T SIT ON THE DESK AND BARK AT PASSING CATS. SHE GOES NUTS WHEN SHE SEES CATS,,,,I MEAN N. U. T. S., NUTS.
8” x 10” Oil on Canvas
A horror movie type figure, I couldn’t think of a name for it so I called it “Nameless”. / Still not sure if he’s a werewolf or what.
