Heading home . . . Gerroa by Rosalie Dale IPA
Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies. Waiting for spring by Simon Duckworth
These summer beach huts are waiting for action, most are locked with rusty padlocks and peeling paint, when we visit I often have a look through these, just in case the lighting is right, I think it was this time. / Processed via PS, cropped and added grain boasting colour.

St Mary's Lighthouse, Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear by Steve Smith
Take what you need while there’s time / The city will be earth in a short while / If I’m not mistaken it’s been in flames / You and I will escape to the seaside There is a storm in the distance / The wind breathing warning of its imminence / There is a lighthouse five hundred yards down / You and I will be safe there There is a girl who haunts that lighthouse / She saved me, I was swimming / So young I almost drowned / Under the water she sang a story / Of losing her lover / She calls a warning Love, you are foolish, you’re tired / Your sleeplessness makes you a liar / The city is burning / The ocean is turning / Our only chance is the lighthouse Her lover was a sailor / She went and she waited there / The door locked from the outside / Lover never arrived so she sings there / Soft as a siren luring the ships off their course, how alarming We went in, we climbed up and looked out / The door locked from the outside / Three ghosts in a lighthouse. Junction by Paul Pichugin
This is an old jetty that has been restored or renewed fairly recently (since I last came here in March anyway). It’s right next to Australia’s longest jetty in Busselton. I’ve only used a ND8 Grad in this shot.. as I left my ND8 where I was staying.. oops. All comments appreciated - paul / http://www.paulmp.com.au

You Set Fire To My Soul And I Don't Know If I Can Recover! by dolphindancer
Part Of My Forest Soul Series: / Such a debate, is fire good for a forest or is it bad? / I think that it is good if it is the nature of things, not that I want homes to be destroyed or anyone killed, animal or otherwise, but I also understand that fire revitalizes the forest, making room for new growth and homes for animals, natural thinning etc. The one time that I see it as bad is when it is deliberately set and both man and nature is harmed. This is the meaning of this image and the meaning of the title! Thanks for viewing and reading and commenting! /
