After more than my own fair share of trauma over the last few weeks Blunt Wound Trauma is now out! For a full synopsis of the book click here : http://www.gibboncore.com/books.htm and then click on one of the adjacent buttons to buy one or more copies. This is the first book from my publishing company; please encourage all of your friends and family to buy it as well! Cheers Micky
The War Child benefit book “You’re Not The Only One”, put together by Peach , is now out and features short stories from Twisted Tales Hosts DBA Lehane and Micky McGuinness. It costs £12.50: £5.00 goes to production costs (that Lulu take and pass on) ,Lulu.com takes £1.50 for themselves in fees (but I THINK they’re going to waive that), and the rest, £6 goes to Warchild. If you buy it as a download, £10 of the £12.50 goes to Warchild There are 106 contributors and I’m sure that more of them may well be Red Bubble members; as the book was fairly well plugged here. So if you are in let me know, and I’ll add you name to this post. As I ordered my copies two days ago, I don’t know what Darren’s contribution is like; but I’m sure it’s up to his usual standard. As for my contribution: it’s a bit different from the stuff I post up here; it’s got quite a lot of dialect in it and its very dialogue heavy. So if you hated Nailed then you probably won’t like this either! Regardless of whether you like either Darren’s or my work; the book and the project are well worth supporting. Cheers Micky
sorry its so short i’ll finish it later when im not crying

Hi, just wanted to explain myself. I am an old Punk…my children….get embarrassed by my stories…that I still listen to hardcore music both old and new. Their friends seem impressed with my record..ops .. CD collection. I do have to get my Cd’s back from both my daughter and my son’s. As I am now a very respectable teacher at a very private (public in UK) school…I teach art. I spent all night listening to Radio Caroline when I was staying in Holland. When I was going to teacher’s college I was the only Punk there..I spent all my weekends in Melbourne at the Ballroom, in St Kilda with my friends watching what we referred to as ” The Little Bands” and also lots of the early Australian and overseas Punk and alternative bands. I saw the likes of the Saints, Split ENZ, The Boys Next Door and later Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, INXS, The Clash, POL, The CURE, The Fall, John Cooper Clark to name but a few. I think I was the only trainee teacher amongst the group. I remember a movie Dogs In Space Richard Lowenstein -later being made based on the scene, parties, lifestyle and one of the little bands we saw all the time, as we had friends in the band The Ears…. oh such a long time ago….. Now my 19 yr old daughter is going out with a heavy metal guitarist…..I have yet to be allowed to attend a gig…..they have been touring interstate….but are back again… maybe soon…...I will bring the Camera and see if I can add to the site…..Did have some fun in London in the mid 80’s as well but that is another story. Cheers Lesley
I know this Punk and Hardcore group was my idea, but I’m actually finding it hard to sit here and write some meaningful info about myself. If you look at my profile you can see I came to Red Bubble to enter a writing competition, and I am getting continually distracted by taking photographs! / That said I have managed to write a few things : Okay about the Punk and Hardcore side of things: I’m 43 and I have been involved in punk since I was 13, starting off as a consumer of records, zines, t-shirts and other merchandise, before getting more involved in the scene. Aside from all of the usual stuff, I was one of the founder members of Flat Earth Records and I have played guitar, and sometimes sung, in the following bands: Blood Robots / Generic / Anything But That / One By One / Ebola I currently play guitar in Jinn and balance that with the demands of a full time job, a young family, an elderly mother, making my own beer, writing and taking photographs! I’m sure I have missed something out there! At the moment I am writing a grown up novel about a guy called Ferenc and his tragic and amusing journey through life A short story “Brilliant” for a benefit publication for War Child which may or may not get accepted, and I am polishing up my short children’s story “George The Pig” for a competition at the end of the month. So I’m not up too much at the moment :^) Okay hope to see lots of people posting things here, and I’m sure it’s going to be fun to see what people are up to. Cheers Micky

Old punks never die, they just diversify!
The impact of Punk and Hardcore on art and literature is immeasurable.
Sadly as people get older they often drop out, or
move on and get involved in other things.
The only criteria for membership of this group is
that you were, or are, involved in the punk or
hardcore scene, and that you submit a journal
entry with a pen portrait of yourself with some
detail of your involvement in the punk or hardcore scene.
