One of the breathtakingly beautiful ceilings in the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra. Every time I have gone into these rooms (this was our fourth visit) I have felt overcome with emotion. The beauty here is just astounding. Since I first went there in 2000, I’ve wanted to photograph properly these wonderful ceilings. At last I now have a camera and lens that I hope have done them justice. This photo now features in my book A Portrait of the Alhambra. Taken with Sony A300 DSLR & Sony 16-105mm lens. / Aperture: f/4.5 / Exposure: 1/20 / No flash / Handheld

One of the only unspoilt stretches of beach around here but no doubt the corrupt powers to be will allow this to be destroyed in the next decade, once the current depression is over. Nikon D40 18-55mm at 18mm Spain on a winters day taken whilst walking Boots with my daughter….... / /

i’ve always loved tobacco shops, but you don’t see all that many around. This one is in Madrid, which, rightly or not, is very smoker friendly. I like the interraction of the two gentlemen on the left – are they discussing the virtues of a certain type of pipe cleaner?

I saw this unusual window, in a small old, renovated, beachside house, Oliva, Valencia, Spain. A childrens climbing net on the beach can just be seen reflecting in it. Fugifilm Finepix S1000fd / f/7.1 Expo 1/90 ISO-64

A group for photos taken on the Iberian Peninsula: Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Andorra and technically a tiny bit of France!

Number of image uploads not limited, but please make sure they are of good quality. The “Here I am next to some statue like every other tourist” photo is not the sort we’re looking for. Offer your most creative and most insightful interpretations of the cultures and countries that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Reveal something new, expected, irresistible about this part of the world. Please no images of just flowers etc, as they could be taken anywhere in the world.
Oh and I like to have fun too, so I will, if I wish, enter the challenges!
