Kolymbithres beach, Paros Island, Greece This unique protected beach on the popular tourist island of Paros, is carved entirely by water, sand and wind erosion, out of 2 million year old granite rock. These rock formations are incredible in that they have extremely smooth surfaces, almost like huge soft pebbles and at the same time extremely sharp edges, which create amazing patterns, textures and patterns. And it’s always different, depending on what time of the year it is and what angle the sunlight hits the rocks from. (direct upload from scanned transparency, as-is)

About This Group

A site for those working with lighting and shadows. A shadow (a distinct line caused by the blocking of light) must be prominently displayed. (This will NOT include photos that are only taken in the dark, at night, in silhouette, in shade, have only a reflection, or which have been altered to be generally darker post-production). The shadow in your images should be a prominent feature and asset of the image, not just a photograph that happnes to have some shadows in it.
