BEAUTY IS BUT SKIN DEEP - 1/3 of the Series 'Refocus Beauty' (Digital Illustration) by Timothy Wong
Beauty is more than the skin, but often it is what that appears on the skin that attracts us. This attraction can sometimes be poisonous. We become focus on something that appears to tenderize but has no soul at all or take us away from. We allow the true beauty, the inner beauty to fade away in the distance. A goldfish yet so important to a pond’s ecosystem is of minor importance or of no harmony to its surroundings at all. A inner soul yet so important to a human’s beauty is not even considered at all! 1/3 of the Series ‘Refocus Beauty’: ‘Refocus Beauty’ is a series of artworks that question our perspective of what Beauty is. Do our minds get poisoned by the evilness of the outer appearances and lustily focus on what only appears to tenderize but is soulless? Or do we refocus our minds back and look beneath, at the heart of the human soul – the heart, the mind and the spirit. The elements that gives beauty its greatest soul like a fish swimming in its pond. ‘Refocus Beauty’ – Refocus and look at what Beauty truly is!

I saw an old block printing of a little man tossing paper into the air. I thought how simple and amazing it was. I wondered if there was any conceivable way to improve upon such a beautiful idea. The answer was obvious, everything looks better witrh a Geisha in it, don’t you think?
