This work is an analogy between the behavior of fish and humans. About the way we see ourselves and the way others see us. It’s about tolerance, respect and understanding in an increasingly over crowded environment. Ultimately we are all heading in the same direction. If a fish were to look back at you, what would they see? / They’d see there’s not a lot of difference between you and me! / All the same, and all unique – a sense of direction is all we seek. / There’s a commonality between fish an me. Except I’m the lucky bugger at the top of the food tree!

On display at the public wharf, Paihia, Bay of Islands ~ New Zealand. Canon EOS 400D. The mask is constructed of copper and brass, with a glass visor
my original impression was to turn this to a monotone and it looks good that way, there is a lot of contrast in the sky, water and shadows. But the colour of the evening is lost, that desaturation made by the long shadows as the lowering sun makes it’s influence known. olympus e410 / zuiko digital 1:2.8/25mm pancake prime. This is for all proud New Zealanders out there, either home or abroad, and visitors to our country (great travel choice) who would like to share our vistas, our people and all things ‘kiwi’.
There is now a limit of 2 uploads per day. Any more than that will be deleted and can be added in the future. Bear in mind, spending time having to delete over-eager uploaders images is a waste of my time; I should be out there doing kiwi stuff so please respect this limit :)
I will change the Featured images on the front page regularly so keep an eye out for yours :)
Ka pai.
