  • The Prayer Box by Kara Brothers

This is a prayer box necklace a dear friend made, and gave to me. Inside is a stone that one of the autistic children she used to work with, gave her. She can no longer work with them, due to developing RSD from an injury she recieved when one of the children slammed her hand in the door. Working with those kids was her life, and it is tearing her apart inside to not be able to do so any longer. She is talking about doing volunteer work with them, even though another similar injury is very likely. Every day I say a prayer for her, that the doctors will find something to ease her constant physical and emotional pain. I wrote this poem to go along with the photo. Dear Lord Please look after my dear friend, / As she feels that her life / Has come an end. Her pain is too much / For her to bear / You’re up there, I know / Please show her you care. If I could take away her pain / For even a day / I would in a heartbeat. / What more can I say? To work with her special children / Is all that she asks / But even that / Is too great a task. Being away from them / Is tearing her apart / But they are with her each day / Right there in her heart. So I ask you again / Look after my friend / For her life is too precious / To come to an end.

  • Warm sands... Empty shoes... by Keiran Lusk

Captured on a warm red sand dune in the middle of Australia…

  • Bawls by Jonathan Bartlett

My GF got me a little portable DeShadow studio lighting box from Adorama for x-mas and this is the best shot I’ve taken with it so far. / Random yes, but I love the way this one came out. By the way, for those who don’t know, Bawls is an energy drink. Halogen 2800K lamps shot straight in on either side. / 580EXII speedlight fired up at 75degree angle. This shot is AS IS from the camera, only slight cropping. Less than 1cm worth. Taken with my Canon Rebel XSI

  • Bellydance Belt by KazM

This is a photo of my first belly dancing coin belt. / I now have many more but this remains a favourite as it was the first. / They are very empowering garments as they give expression to how you walk and the more exhuberantly you walk the more they express themselves and the more you feel like walking. Great way to encourage exercise. They also make you feel very feminine. / Taken with my Sony Cybershot 4.1. Only cropped.
