Hi Dave,
In my previous life on RB, I posted a pic of a similar ride to this, which had all the makings of a ‘Close Encounters’ feel about it. I titled it ‘Is anyone out there?’.
Maybe I’ll post it again!!!
It’s good to see that you captured it in twilight.
Carine Boustany
great capture and love the feel and mood that you have managed to create
Nacho Garcés

Hi Dave,
If you shoot over to my page, you can see the shot I mention above.

“The work behind the work” This image was created with a Nikon D200, tripod, long exposure setting (in camera program that limits noise and artifacts on longer exposures), and lots of work. The work included two years due to the placement of this and other rides at the Florida State Fair were this image was taken (Rides can change there location each year). The first year I shot these rides the images were very good however I felt something was just not right, and that was not getting the late sunlight in the background. The other issues were getting the ferris wheel to stop moving and to catch the Whirlygig at just the right moment during its run (It moves all over the place) and to get the color of the lights I wanted (The lights on the ride turn various colors during its run). So on a cold Florida night in February I finally got the image I had in mind a year before.

Thanks artsandelimage! It actually took me two years to pull off my vision of this image. It was well worth the patience.
