“When the wind is blowing and the sleet or rain is driving against the dark windows, I love to sit by the fire, thinking of what I have read in books of voyage and travel.” – Charles Dickens
“Let your bookcases and your shelves be your gardens and your pleasure-grounds. Pluck the fruit that grows therein, gather the roses, the spices, and the myrrh.” ~Judah Ibn Tibbon
A great book should leave you with many experiences, and slightly exhausted. You should live several lives while reading it.

A well-composed book is a magic carpet on which we are wafted to a world that we cannot enter in any other way

this is brilliant work, the fantasy work looks like it’s stepped outside of its own pages and perhaps looking to chose a new destination inside the covers of another? the entire art is sublime ~ the light is perfection ~ and your quotes speak to me so very well ~ they fulfill the promise of your arts intention…you have such talent xx
As a life long reader since old enough to hold a book ~ I know my “garden and pleasure grounds” well & have known and enjoyed ” many lifetimes” ~ such a gift finding your art this morning xx

looks too much like the work of Winslow 357??? did you take his idea? or just his work
Foxfires replied 29 days ago
Actually, Winslow357 took my work. :) Fortunately I spoke to him about it months ago, and he credited me for the actual work (which he superimposed a picture of a little girl over. My actual watermark could still be seen in parts of the work.) Unfortunately, Charles decided to leave RedBubble. I hear he had several of these kinds of works in his gallery though.
If you wish to see the original, and how far back this was actually posted…you can view it on my DeviantArt page, which shows the original posting date of December 2007: http://foxfires.deviantart.com/art/Treasure-Hunt-72963802
I assure you, I do not need to rip anyone’s work. :) I have far too active an imagination to do so…but I appreciate your keen eyes. Art theft is a major issue these days, with people feeling it’s ‘alright’ to take people’s work and call it their own. Many of my works are ‘ripped’ on MySpace, and various websites. There’s little that can be done. The only saving grace is that I am the only one with the full resolution copies that can be printed…and they are forced to make poor quality prints from small resolution files.
Either way… I appreciate the comment! :)
