Marvellous photograph, Jo! I was really wondering what it was till I had scrolled down past half the length of this thread, to see the other pic you posted of the plant.
If I would have had to make a guess I’d have thought of a caterpillar LOL – (in frozen or half drowned shape that would have been… ;)
Might be helpful to have a little description to go with the pic though, unless you’ve got your reasons not to do that, of course :)
