Persephone

Keelan McMorrow

Persephone

A depiction of the fated Persephone of Greek myth who was captured by Hades in order to be his wife and queen in the eternal underground. She was allowed to return to the old world every spring, representing the virtual ‘death’ of nature we experience every winter countered by its eventual rebirth every year in the spring.
Original completed in watercolor and gouache on Arches 180lb. cold-pressed cotton rag.

I love it! What made you choose Persephonie? I like how you incorporate geometric shapes into your artwork. Persephonie is my patron of sorts… I would love to see you play more with the light and dark aspect. :)

I love it … and I’d be very happy if you consider submitting it to The Divine Feminine, if you’re so inclined.
