Some promises made at the tender age of eight!
Convinced, coerced, cajoled
That we shall never have it all,
That we shall never feel the promise
Till the end,
... This moment brings,
... This feeling sings.
Exposed and truth
And feeling the precipice
Of need
Then desire giving way to a current
Of Love
Naked
Born
Now.
Now on it’s way to dying
Unless I wake up
Unless I decide
That I can allow myself
The beating of belief.

This poem takes me to a quiet place, when I first read it I was surrounded by a room full of noises, and then I opened the page, and in stepped the light from the page especially these lines resonated: “Some promises made at the tender age of eight!
Convinced, coerced, cajoled
That we shall never have it all,
That we shall never feel the promise
Till the end,
... This moment brings,
... This feeling sings.”
It makes me think of the feelings singing with gusto and strength, “yes we can have it all” and why not.. life is about passion and passion dances through the lines of this poem

That is it precisely.. all this upbringing of you can never have it all. ... love fades .. all the stuff filled up to the brim of stuff as far back as when we are children.. our own silly promises that we make and never revise.. unconscious living!!!
