It looks like silk, silk of fire, silk of moonfire, silk of rosefire, silk of silk. What I love best about it is that the fire part is not yellow—it makes the picture feel like spirit fire, rather than heart fire.

I love the way that you have the face and then the spirit around the face. The color of the skin (here we go again!) makes it seem as if she is transparent, transmitting the light through her rather than reflecting light.

I was just looking at your portfolio, and i think one of the reasons we resonate with each-other artistically is that we have sort of a similar eye (albeit i am a bit more morbid sometimes, lol)... I have a self-portrait photo that is conceptually similar to this one, in fact using the same colors and dark pink/red smoke (i’ll dig it up and post it). We both do largely self-portraits as the basis of our work as well…it’s interesting and inspiring!
