I was special to see how you progressed through from the beginning of the eye.
It makes it more special knowing how much work had to be put into it.

You must have worn yourself out doing all that fine detail, but you can take consolation in the fact that long after the pain of creation has been forgotten, that painting will still be giving people pleasure. I suppose it’s like giving birth really, isn’t it.

not that it’s bad , it’s so VERY good! I wish I could see more , I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to emulate you in some manner, when I get around to drawing a dragon, but I was thinking for me personally something a little meaner, fearcer , and more dark and scary looking, but this is Excellent! and the Pink is fine too!!! because I have no preferences when it comes to colors, those colors really go together well, Great Job! now how about a crique for my critique? was that good bad or just plain ugly?

Heck why not make the background all pink , or a deep purple would work as well too, any color that is within that same tonal range, but solid, but enough on that I know you worked hard on that, rest your weary hands and eyes!

and they eye by the way is Really Good, whatever you do don’t change the eye!!

Wow Penny… I have never seen a comment column as long as yours. I was instantly drawn to this dragon. I think everything you did with it is PERFECT. There are 2 things that immediately stand out to me about your dragon: 1. This is a female dragon. 2. This female dragon is worthy of being loved. You have such patient detail and there is a sense of overwhelming love coming through this work. It is quite remarkable. If she were real, I would try to pet her.

Wow, huge amount of work for a great result. Many moons ago I had a book called the art of Dragon Lance and I remember the comment from an artist that the scales of a dragon were hell to paint. Well done.

Which reminds me. I have computerised embrodiery dragons, which I created on a course a few years back. The ulimate test in both artistic composition/drawing and computer IT skills. Using both hemispheres of the brain!

Penny, Love your dragon especially the detail. maybe the background could be less dominant to emphasise the detail even more. Now you have it in the computer you can trial some colours and see what you like without risking your masterpiece. As I do dragonboating I wish I could draw great dragons, but I can’t so I will just have to admire yours!

It’s beautiful, very well done, and I bet you’re proud of what you’ve accomplished!
