One Last Wave - I Wait

One Last Wave - I Wait belongs to the following groups:

Waves

I wait.
Beneath me I feel the swell.
My board responds with me,
At one with my soul.

I stare at the far horizon.
I wait.
The sun dips and vanishes.
For a moment there is nothing,
Except the water,
That drew me one last time.

Then the horizon is afire.
Not the Sun,
No,
Something brighter,
More deadly,
More final.

In one moment of light
I am blind.
Yet I still feel the swell,
Changing,
Growing,
Growing,
Coming,
Relentless.

I turn,
And my board turns with me.
I feel the rise beneath me,
And we are, once more,
One, riding that final break,
Into Eternity,
And it is all
At one with my soul.
