WOW! WOW! WOW! What a phenomenal shot and the HDR treatment makes it even better!!! This takes me back to when I used to ride my uncles horse bareback on his large farm in New Hampshire. There was an abandoned old wagon just like this in the hayfield. Wonderful memory jogged by a wonderful image. Thanks Rose.
PrairieRose replied
Hi Pam! I’m THRILLED you like this shot! I hope you will have the chance to play around with HDR…...it’s so much fun! Even though I don’t think my editing on this shot is perfect, I hope it gives an effect of the old west….. LOL! Big thanks for your continuous support Girlfriend! xx
jesika
What tales this old relic could tell us. The privation, despair, hope, frustration… Every aspect of early North American life is written on that solitary wagon. And we complain when we can’t get on line!!!
jxxx
PrairieRose replied
Right on Miss Jesika! What a beautiful comment…...THANK YOU SO MUCH my Honey Child! xx

I am reading a book at the moment about the American west by a bloke called Dee Brown, fascinating history about the cattlemen cowboys, and all those indian tribes etc…

Stunning image Rosie, and very good and realistic HDR processing. So many times HDR is overprocessed and no longer looks realistic, but you have done a great job here Rosie. Well worth the effort of the processing. Great image. :-))

I don’t know where you find this stuff Rose, but I’m glad you do. The contrast and depth are great, and the clouds are just amazing. Very nice piece
PrairieRose replied
That is the NICEST compliment Andrew….....Really, thanks so much Pal! All my latest shots were taken in the Okanagan Valley in southern/central British Columbia, Canada…....that’s the next province west from where I live (8 hour drive)......we go there every year for a mini vacation…....this shot was taken WAY UP HIGH on a mountain which has incredible views of the Valley….....thanks again for your interest, Really appreciate that Andrew…....Cheers, Rose :)))
Barbara Sparhawk
Spectacular,Prarie. I want to be there. I miss the drama of clouds where I am now, too low in the valley to get that panorama. This is wonderful, very liberating just to look at, so much land and space and air and the vehicle for the journey. Well done.
PrairieRose replied
Love your generous comments as always Dear Barbara! THANK YOU so much my gracious Friend….....the Okanagan Valley is a mini Napa Valley! The wineries are gorgeous and you can sample all the wine you like for free! I think there must be lots of drunk people driving from winery to winery all day long! LOL….....Hugs, Rose xx

rolling, rolling, rolling…excellent shot and i particularly love the heavy clouds.. just imagine being a settler standing aside that rickety wagon and wondering just how to go about crossing them there mountains
PrairieRose replied
Hello Simon, I’m glad this shot gave you the feeling of the Wild West…....The old West is one of my favorite themes….....THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to view and comment…......Sincerely, Rose x

JohnEvans
This is a nice shot, well composed. Not sure what HDR is but, whatever it is, I like it. I think this is probably the first inward facing one I’ve seen. In my experience they’ve all been front facing. Maybe they’re more common in the west.
PrairieRose replied
Dear John,
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your lovely comment…....HDR aka high dynamic range is an effect created using a software package…....I have only just learned this a few months ago….....I’m so pleased you like the little wagon from the West….....I imagine it’s sat up top of this hill outside of Penticton, BC for many years…......
Kind regards, Rose
JohnEvans
It must be very dry there. It wouldn’t have lasted very long in my area. (Western Quebec)
PrairieRose replied
Yes, it’s a wine region….....VERY dry and hot in the Summer and not too cold in the winter but dry….....certainly not as cold as your winters!
Vickie Emms
Another beauty,I love scenes like this
