Born from this earth and taken by the wind...
- Imagine being born again.
Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system.
What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting?
Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness.
Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage.
Maybe the nine images are a true metaphorical reflection of the artists soul?
His background and love for the stage and theatre.
His longing to find true love and a wanting audience.
The ongoing battle of time and money between industry and creative
fulfilment.
Born from this earth, the series, everyone deserves a new beginning, a chance to start over.
Was priviledged to work with the beautiful Bronwen Hyde during the Aradale weekend and thank her greatly for her time, acceptence of my crazy ideas and her near perfect contortionist act to get into the metal duct! :D
This and another 2 images will be on display at the BSG Picture This exhibition that begins this Friday.
Much thanks also goes to Karen who mastered the art of throwing props in an instant! :)
The weekend was a huge success and I thouroughly enjoyed spending time with like-minded souls.

John Robb
I’ve seen this a few times now and each time I admire the wonderful way you’ve combined three distinct elements of the fabric, the model and the architecture together in this image. Add to this there is a great use of the floor as negative space – your signature ducting and Bronwen looking to move, or float, above.
Great work and a formidable example of your creativity and skill.
Paul Louis Vil...
Wow, thank you John! I’m honoured by your praise! :D

chrythmnove
I like this shot, Verrry creative, and just pulses above the Scarry! I did a piece using 6ft of tie-dye earth bound cloth, and smeared my ankles,, wrist & hands with red paint in prostrate adulation to hug Mother Earth as she bled her icecaps of Ages onto my stamp of existence! It’s in reference to Ana Mendietta, the Cuban feminist artist. On the bottom of the sheet, in the underbelly, is a photojournalst image of Burning Monk from the famed ‘60’s protests.
It’s a treat to have someone favour my work. Thankyou.
Sharon Mau
