Julian – I’m a huge Studio Ghibli fan, so I won’t deny that Hayao Miyazaki’s simplistic style for some of his characters migth have influenced the spooky commuters a little :)

I understand this completely – on my way to uni, i have to go via train and bus, and generally i’m carrying two canvases, a bag full of paints, a roll of paper and a box for my sculpture stuff. Imust admit, it would have to be rather comical (i’m pretty short, and loaded up with all that stuff i must look like a miniture pack-horse) but.. well, all the people staring does create a rather foreboding atmosphere. and that, you have captured perfectly in this piece. Whether it be in the shapeless figures themselves, or in the eery use of light, the atmosphere isperfect in this. well done.

I like it. Colours, light, comp. all very nice. You even blurred the first commuter on the right …Very clever.

I know how this is. I always just hope I can sit down so I can read. Plus I always listen to my MP3 player so I don’t have to listen to the inane babbling around me. Great work.

Kinda creepy but i like it, it took me a while to see the ‘figures’ at first i thought they were just empty seats – ok i know im a bit slow.

Outstanding work. Very creepy and it feels almost 3 dimensional. Very well done.

I love this. The simplicity is grabbing in its effect making you feel the loneliness of the commuters as well as their search for hope. At least this is what I get from it. They watch each and every new commuter that gets on hoping to find a humanity lost in time. This is a great piece!

Reminds me of the early morning bus I used to get into Dublin city a fews years ago. Full of zombies! And it always had the odd couple of menacing characters sitting on the back seats upstairs. You’ve captured that mood. Nice image, if a little eerie.
