Dante Alighieri is beyond doubt the greatest of Italian poets, and, many readers think, one of the greatest poets that Western civilization has produced. W. B. Yeats called him “the chief imagination of Christendom.” T. S. Eliot said: “Dante and Shakespeare divide the modern world between them. There is no third.”
that writing dedicated to Dante Alighieri!

plagued by doubt
invading into the silence
all hell broke loose
felt out of my depth in Elysium fields
conjecture I came up with was really just a shot in the dark
time keeps me pushing right to the end
there’s trouble looming on the horizon
Am I breaking a religious law?
I was waiting and seeing how the land lies before I do anything?
utter misery guts there
a fly in the ointment
when push comes to shove
there was no intimation
the edge of an abyss
heavenly bodies flew down to the earth
praise to the skies
I had made a special ring in hell
for those who weren’t interested
neither in politcs nor want to take sides…
it was known as the ring of the indifferent souls
they weren’t wanted in heaven or in hell
they wondered in that ring like lost souls
I escaped defeat by the skin of my teeth
mind consistently pushes the envelope of deduction
time makes my skin crawl
soul laid waste by sinful thoughts
in the upper circles of Hell
sins of Incontinence
lack of self-control
in the battering dog-day weather
the raging inferno
the circle of nature
beneath lies
subdued and faint
a quick, slick slither
hedge to hedge
fleeter than flash
I hedged my bets by belief
slogged my guts out for the life
purged of the vices of envy
anger
sloth
avarice
greed
gluttony, and lust
and the opposing virtues
instilled fear
journey through Heaven
the state of souls after death
I dealt with these issues…
I was more sinned against than sinning?
therein lies the key to my success?
but at least I have the consolation that I had my say..

but at least I have the consolation that I had my say.....wow, amazing questions. They’re so amazing that I don’t even want attempt to answer them. They’re beautiful just by themselves.
but at least I have the consolation that I had my say.....I just love that. So true.
What a beautiful tribute to Dante. One of my favorite poets as well. xx

A new visit to the inferno of the social bereavements…...
the limbo of the muted unjust.
Circles of development,
sins underneath the virtues sepulchred in white.
All of them…. gifted with sinful tears….
a projection of the Paradise,
long forgotten.
Shame.
Poverty.
Could we deserve such a prize for living?
Rosa (difficult to read…..is talking with hidden words…a jungle of sensations and mental challenges…yes…a hug for you)

Because you have found your own paradoxes of consciously living the body-mind to the extremes, and have been able to cover the violence of emotions with soft skin like in your raging and biting self-defending and nurturing teeth….and because you are not alien to your vicesm seeing the virtues that enclose…. this poem well deserves..it.
