In my attempt at writing something a little more uplifting (still unfruitful, yet I do feel a few brewing), I came accross this one for some reason in the bottom of my unfinished stuff, hidden with a different name, and obviously finished. My heart just skipped a beat, because I remember It so well, and for personal reasons it has always been a fave of mine, written one morning as a gift to my lovely wife, a small token for the years spent in the company of the madman that I had been. And…well, its full of love and light and a wee bit of hope…and I dont think she would mind me sharing it, so here it is….and every word still stands true

Oilpaint on Canvas. / Made by me ienemien in October 2009 Inspirated by The Rose – Bette Midler / From the movie The Rose – / A tribute to Janis Joplin Video-Song Some say love, it is a river / That drowns the tender reed / Some say love, it is a razor / That leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger / An endless, aching need / I say love, it is a flower / And you, it’s only seed It’s the heart, afraid of breaking / That never learns to dance / It’s the dream, afraid of waking / That never takes the chance It’s the one who won’t be taken / Who cannot seem to give / And the soul afraid of dyin’ / That never learns to live When the night has been too lonely / And the road has been too long / And you think that love is only / For the lucky and the strong Just remember, in the winter / Far beneath the bitter snows / Lie the seed, that with the sun’s love / In the spring, becomes the rose Oilpaint on Canvas. / Made by me ienemien in October 2009 This is Only the Underpaint. / Use pink acryl for the underpaint and only white oilpaint (Titan White) for the light and dark brown (Umber) for the shadows. / The nice thing is, that brown and white together is green on the pink underground and I like that… Now I am painting the real colors and shadows and forms, in the centre of the rose I started with a transparent oilpaint in peach color. Its not finished yet :-)) It takes time to finish it…

The Art Of Life.. by RobynLee
(5×7 Mixed Media on Card) I made this collage to show the contrasts of life by putting two v. different styled artists(Renoir & Munch) next to each-other to “illustrate(pun intended) my point. I cut up both prints & re-assembled them w/Pop-Dots to give it a 3D effect. I used embossing pens for the background. & added a paper umbrella as well as a quote pretty much sums up the theme of this work.
