I took this shot on Bell Island, if you look closely at the base of the cliff you can see a natural tunnel that has been bored through the rock by the water and out to the other side. Macro shot of water droplets attached to tree roots in Shawl Cave at Wombeyan Caves, NSW. / These tree roots emerge from the ceiling in Shawl cave and are so incredibly fine that even the slightest movement can damage them. They are covered in water droplets which cling precariously to the roots and are quite simply one of the most beautiful things I have seen in a cave.

Image by photographer Glennis Siverson, www.glennisphotos.com This beautiful water reflection scene is at the end of the trail in Reed Flute Cave, located near the city of Guilin, China. I shot this on 35mm film, then had it converted to a high res tiff file. There was no editing done to this….. it is really that lovely! This is one of the last images I shot on film before making a complete transition to digital.

Here at Upper Falls, the Grandma Gatewood Trail begins its six-mile course connecting three of the park’s areas: Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls to Ash Cave. Antelope Canyon is the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon formed over the course of millions of years by erosion of the Navajo Sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding and secondarily due to wind erosion. Rainwater (especially during monsoon season) runs into the wash that Antelope Canyon is part of, picking up speed and sand as it rushes through the narrow passageways. Over time the passageways are eroded away, making the corridors wider and smoothing hard edges in such a way as to form characteristic ‘flowing’ shapes in the rock. Lower Antelope Canyon, called Hasdeztwazi, or “spiral rock arches” by the Navajo, is located a few kilometers away from the upper Antelope Canyon and is a more difficult hike. This is the famous Seal cave in Oregon. They have a view point where the view is obscured by a cage. There is a small ledge of cement where you can sit a camera down and take a time exposure or at least try to hold your camera still. The view is though a small window in the cage for the camera. Those are seals on the rocks. The light was nice and my luck was good.

This image was bitch to capture and process. There was about a gazillion stops between the highlights and shadows. I think from memory I did a 9 stop bracket to capture the shadow and detail. The processing was really difficult to do without making the image look unreal. Natural Bridge is a pretty cool place to visit in Springbrook National Park in QLD. Enjoy.

Inside Natural Arch, Gold Coast hinterland. Haven’t been up here for awhile and the last I heard this spot was closed(like a lot of nat. park trails on the coast) due to being unstable. When i was young and foolish, this was a popular spot to jump through in summer

Description…well its kinds obvious, its a Cod in a Cave ;-) Ok, its a Black Cod (Epinephelus daemelii) sorrounded by Eastern Pomfrets (Schuettea scalaripinnis) at Fish Rock Cave (http://www.southwestrocksdive.com.au/) off the Northern NSW Coast, Australia (http://tinyurl.com/a99zm4) Black Cod are classed as a “Vulnerable” species, they are not yet and hopefully will never be endangered. Follow the 2 links above and from one you will see a drawing of Fish Rock Cave. This dive site is one of the must-do dives not just of Australia but of the world! The classic Fish Rock photograph is similar to this one but with Grey Nurse Sharks so it was great to get this shot, particularly as the Black Cod are relatively shy and tend to run and hide when divers approach.
