This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

Photographic based digital montage – Feb, 2008. Created over several hrs…2 nights this week (suffering from concussion) from an accidental fall over the wk’end. Photoshop montage combining digital shots of jewels, scanned samples of vintage style wallpaper and added drawn elements. Fifty layers retouched, blended, filtered, colour & tonal curve adjusted. I’m considering using the design as a furniture (upholstering) velvety/suede fabric for a small round bedroom foot stool.

On the 12th day of May 2008 I witnessed (along with thousands of others) a perfect circle in the form of a rainbow around the sun at about noon-time at a beautiful place in the Philippines. Completely perplexed, stunned and amazed at this extraordinary and divine sight, I HAD to create this artwork. Im not sure where you were or what you were doing at this same moment of time but I guess this is all we have. Small pigments of time all squeezed together. And if we’re blessed enough, we get moments like these and realise even for a second the gravity of God’s love. There were no photo’s taken at the time and all I had available to me was the memory of this moment… The moment my heart burned. Print available. / Vector digital art created in illustrator.

Oil Pastel And Acrylic (With minor digital enhancements) Here’s Ophelia all dressed up for a party that she’s hosting! A party that celebrates all that life has to offer,both the good and not so good :D She’s wearing her new flower feather clips and a ribbon belt to adorn her waist. All who read this will be invited! A belief that Life is to be celebrated, not just the ups but the downs too. It is easier to give thanks and rejoice when things go well for us but can we still do the same when things dont turn out the way we want them to? In dry or in bountiful times, I keep reminding myself to count my blessings…to adopt the mindset of abundance and not of scacity. This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents.
