Agathe had arthritis all over her poor body ,she couldn’t stand it .Sometimes she was just raging of pain .She passed away the 14 of april .I wasn’t there to say goodbye but I’m sure she knows her hands will finaly be on R.B.I asked her for some shots of her twisted fingers and she agreeded with such pleasure ,she asked me several times when I was going to do it .I went to see her just in time a week ago.She was so weak that she couldn’t hold to little butterfly.I felt so sad but at the same time I was happy that she used the rest of her strenth to do that shot she wanted so much.She was always on oxygene and stayed still all day long the last few weeks.I ‘m sure she’s not suffering anymore .By! Bye! Agathe…xx

it’s easy to only focus on the sadness inherent in an old derelict building like teton. / when you know the misery in the history of a asylum, and you see / only the ruins of what it once was, you sometimes become blinded / by the macabre and morose, by thwarted hopes and unchecked corruption. / if this is all you see – in an abandoned building, in your own life, in the world around you / it’s easy to feel that perhaps it would be best to erase it all, to hide everything away / so deep that it can’t encroach upon your fleeting comforts and contentment. / but, in this place where such terrible, tragic things occurred / there is something else that resides there – sometimes in the brilliant green ivy / that works its way into cracks and crevasses the way lovers’ fingers entwine, / sometimes in the softness of the wind, or the stillness of untouched afternoon sunlight – or / the way gravity welcomes the falling rafters back to the earth and time / absolves its past in the oblivion of unmolested sleep. teton had such beauty – in / the sincerely charitable ambitions that built it, in the graceful forms of its architect’s true design, / in the naive hope of the many who genuinely believed it could bring a cure for the ill, / and in those confined who stole friendships and dignity from the greedy hands of / disgrace and neglect. if you can’t see these things, you’ll never understand why i do what i do. / photographs capture slivers of time. they preserve a point of view, a moment / that would otherwise be forever lost. if you seek truth through them, / maybe you can illuminate the soul of a thing, and maybe show someone else / the proud glory and splendor of the forgotten and forsaken. / the triumphs and frailties of human endeavor may now be heard only in echoes, / but i guarantee you if you are quiet and you listen / you will hear not screams of agony and anguish, but the sweet serenity of final release. / if you approach the past with humility and reverence in your heart you’ll realize that / immortality is not something anyone can ever capture – but if you are very lucky, / through a photograph perhaps you may capture a glimpse, / a fleeting moment of something that, in its own abstract and inexplicable way, / proves beyond a doubt that nothing ever dies. / —-—-—-—-—-—-- photo taken at teton state hospital / more of my work is on www.abandonedamerica.org / please check out my new book, filled with photos and text – the link is on my site’s main page!

Do you know the relationship that you are all looking for? Do you know what it really is? You want the relationship between you and you. And when you meet a person who looks fondly at you, or who is appreciative of you, or someone you look fondly upon, or someone you appreciate, it just hooks you up to your Inner Being, which is what you want all along. So the relationship you are all looking for is the relationship between you and you. And everything else is just helpful in that, really. Don’t you find that interesting? That what you really want is a reason to vibrationally connect with who you really are. And so, you ask so much of people because you say to them, “You need to be the one who causes me to feel good.” And what we want to say to all of you is: If any of you are without the relationship of your dreams right now, that’s a wonderful thing. Because now you have an opportunity to work on the relationship that really matters first and foremost. And then, in that connection, the relationship of your dreams will come. But you are going to discover the relationship of your dreams is really your own Inner Being. It’s that infusion of clarity and confidence and wellness, that’s what you are reaching for. And it is nice to have a human friend who holds you as their object of attention and adores you right into your connection. But we want you experience greater independence than that. We want you to say to you lovers, “I love you, but I don’t live for you. Because Source Energy flows through me. You are a catalyst to my wellbeing, but you are not essential to my wellbeing. Because I’ve got that figured out on my own. I have reached for thoughts that give me relief. And I have relieved myself all the way into my full connection of who I really am. And now we can just dance and play together.” Can you feel how you take them off the hook? In other words, do you know how many men would flock to you.? (ALL OF THEM!) .if they knew that you would allow them to be as they are and you would not hold them responsible for your happiness. That’s what everyone wants. How much bondage is there in believing that your happiness depends on me, so I’ve got to figure out what you want, and stand on my head in all those different ways, and it’s not even possible! The greatest gift you can give anyone is to be happy. And we will take that further. The greatest gift you can give to any partner, past, present or future is to be so connected with who you truly are that they are irrelevant to your connection. So how do you make someone understand something that you understand? You can’t. All you can do is understand it. So your greatest gift to them is just know what you know about death, know that it is nonexistent, know that this man, this being, exists eternally, know that he can come through the cat door either way, know that he is constantly, consistently focused here, know that he has awareness about what all of you are doing, know that his interest in what you are doing has not changed at all. Know that you have the ability to interact with him. Know that he has the ability to interact with you. And make that a real experience for yourself. And then talk about it as if it is a normal experience. Let it be the normal experience that it really is. Stepstones / From a series where i look at death and different aspect of death and dying. Inspired by the book The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying And Spectral Path, by David Hykes From a series where I work to express the deepest emotions, both positive and “negative”. Flashlight image in composite. This is my way to healing and selfrealization. If my work can give something to an other human being it is twice worth the effort. Where do you go when the world has failed you, / when those you sought to teach would not listen? / Where do you go when your joy fades to sorrow, / your oceans die, while your message washes in on a lonely tide, / and your brokenness is but a parting reminder for hard hearts to open? / When the oceans rise and your song is no longer heard, what shores await you….? / Where will you go? And might we with our healing hearts follow? Following on from my story about the mass whale stranding here in the south west I felt compelled to create something more…... to honour these beautiful creatures.
