Pattern, texture, design….I guess all those things were going through my mind when I took this photo
Cats have a highly developed sense of smell, although not as much so as in dogs. This is further supplemented by the presence of a vomeronasal organ in the roof of the mouth, allowing the animal to “taste” the air. Cats possess highly sensitive whiskers set deep within the skin, and provide the cat with sensory information about the slightest air movement around it. For this reason they are very helpful for a nocturnal hunter. (Wikipedia.org)

Outlined cactus flower. Just playing with my Wacom tablet a little. I outlined the flower with the paint brush, using the pen as my tool, then I sharpened the image and that was the whole process.

The original photograph was of a dozen roses. After painstakingly removing all but the single rose in Photoshop, I applied several gradients and filters to achieve this final effect.
