  • Butterfly Effect
    by Cliff Vestergaard

    US$5.23–US$119.32

The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly’s wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that ultimately cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing). The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale phenomena. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.

  • Fire Reflection
    by Crokus Label

    US$7.32–US$167.20

This was a night of fun… experimenting with my camera… there are no Photoshop works here either… it is as is… :) Enjoy… :)

  • I was experimenting with slow shutterspeed effects, and saw a friend do some work using fire. so it became something i wanted to try and just play around with and see what i could do with it. / so one cold night, im bored, i decided to try this time lapse stuff out / at the time i was still using my kodak easyshare 6490 camera back in feb of 2007. / so i set it up on my tripod in the darkest part of my house, the hallway / it took a few times of trial and error, to be lined just right with the framing, and to get the flames just right. i was going for a heart shape for valentines / i used two bic lighters to achieve this effect / just as i set the timer on the camera, as it was starting to release the shutter is when i started forming the heart shape with the flame / this was a very fun challenge, something great to try on those cold or rainy days and you feel like there isnt anything to do. this was shot in SS priority, SS was set at 5.6, time lapse was set at 6 sec, aperture was F 2.8, and focal length was at 6mm, and exposure comp at -2, no programed effects were done to this shot, this is as is right out of camera / unfortunately due to the 4mp of the camera all that is available is the card

  • Juxtaposition
    by Mundy Hackett

    US$6.65–US$152.00

This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

  • BLUE
    by micmac

    US$3.99–US$91.20

An untouched macro of a big ice stick in front of the sun.The ice stick was at least 5 inches wide and I’ve decided to keep it in the freeser to make other shots the day after but with the cold it made snow flakes on it and when I rinsed the stick under the water it all cracked up with a totaly different effect for shooting…it was nice though…. :0) / /

  • My cats, Duke and Daisey just loved lounging under the Christmas tree last year. Duke loved climbing in the tree, too! LOL!

  • Transcendence!
    by Diane Schuster

    US$4.99–US$114.00

This is another image from Union Creek, Oregon during their prescribed burn last Fall. This image is different in that the sunburst is directly in the center and I have applied the Orten Effect for a challenge on vanishing points. So thanks for your patience in viewing this image again, but in a different form.

  • Evening at Cinque Torri
    by Lenka

    US$6.65–US$152.00

Scanning old negatives from my archive, I have found a photograph of Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Tofanas taken very late in the afternoon. I liked the combination of dark clouds and remaining summer haze that made the background looking very flat like in a painting. Just before clouds covered the sun completely, last rays fell on the Cinque Torri, a group of rocks very popular by climbers. To complete the feeling I had about the picture, I’ve applied ‘colored pencils’ filter in post-processing of this photograph. Dolomiti, Italy. August 2001. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, sharpening, colored pencils, color enhancement, blend modes. Detail of the image showing the ‘color pencils’ effect:

  • A photo of a rose that I took last summer

  • NOTE: I’ve replaced the original pic as it wasn’t very straight – this one is much better. / / Had a mad thought last night (04.04.2009), decided to try it tonight, and to experiment with available (artificial) light at the same time. I took about 40 pics and am really pleased with how some of them have come up – this is another one of them. I used fluorescent lighting, a Halogen worklight and a hand-held (Dolphin) torch, and a combination of some of them. / / This one was taken with only a hand-held (Dolphin) torch (lol, I think the battery is going flat!) – taken in colour. I let the camera choose the settings. I ‘ve tweaked it’s Levels and boosted it’s Brightness a little, and then enlarged it. I’m very pleased with this one – it’s rich and warm. I think this one is the best out of the lot. / / This image was placed in the Top 10 of the Wine Glass Challenge in the Art of Glass Group, 15.04.2009. / / Also Featured in the Freedom in Words and Art”:http://www.redbubble.com/groups/beginners-writing-realm Group on 30.06.2009. / / Many thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy it. All criticisms are welcome and appreciated. / / Please view the large size.
