As the front of a book is a cover, / So the facade of this library is its cover. / The front of the Wallsend Library is mostly metal supported by concrete and enclosing many windows. The Metal structure over the steps reminds me of a ladder. / Maybe a ladder to learning? / It is marvellous how much Mathematical Magic is involved in the Making of this Marvel. / I love books / So libraries are amongst my 50 favourite places / Taken with Sony Cybershot 4.1 digital compact camera Many thanks to the hosts of The Compact Group for featuring this image. I was taken (almost against my will) to Victorian University of Technology in Footscray, where one of my friend’s needed to make an appearance at their Open Day, of which she was involved in the planning. I spotted this set of stairs and railings on the way back to the car. Suddenly the trip there was all worthwhile :) It was an overcast day and lighting was poor, but with the help of level tweaking, a blue filter and a dash of contrast, this grey concrete was looking a lot more fire ravaged.
