  • This is part of a series that I am working on. Called morning noon and evening. My thought is to have the same background image in 3 variations showing how one place can evolve and change moods. I have reasently created a second image / / Noon

  • (enter twilight) The sun disappears beneath the horizon, and again, / the boy prepares to slumber. (with much reluctance) (Study in mood #1) / / / >featured<

  • I took this picture in my local cafe’ in Cusco…El Cafe Extra ! / I was having my breakfast when this man.. el Señor Castro came in ! / He is a local and he is a lovely and friendly person always with a big smile ! / But I caught him looking at the window for a long while in such a contemplative and sad mood ! I had the time to get my camera and take this photograph ! It wasn’t an easy one..there was not much light and the exposure was 1/20 second ! But I just love his expression ! • This was taken at Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, where the mill is in the image is a small village called Godmanchester.. Took quite a while to do this but im pretty happy with how it turned out so was well worth the effort :-)

  • This shot was taken at Dawn from the building I work in it shows the Spire of St Francis Xavier Church at Lavender Bay in the North Sydney CBD. The Sydney Harbour Bridge links the North Sydney CBD with the Sydney CBD. There has been a church on the site since the early days of the settlement of the colony of Sydney Town. The shot was taken using a Nikon D300, Nikon 18 – 200mm lens , for any Nikononians the 18-200mm lens is wonderful it comes in handy as a all purose lens. The shot was created from 4 exposures and processed with Photomatix HDR software. So continues my exploration of HDR.. its fun

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER This shot taken from MIlsons Point directly under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the lights and skyline of the city on the opposite shore. Taken around midnight the waters of Sydney are lit with colours of the rainbow. For visitors to Sydney , you can walk across to Milsons point, or catch train trip to Milson’s Point station. This shot was taken with no filters with a Nikon D300 and Nikon 18-200mm lens securely mounted on a Manfrotto Tripod, using three bracketed exposures which were then processed using Photomatix HDR Software. My continuing journey into HDR

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER CURENT ENTRY IN MORNINGS AND EVENINGS CHALLENGE THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT THis shot was taken from Berrys Bay/ Balls Head Park on the north shore of Sydney taken on Wednesday 28th May 2008 around 5pm. As you can see the clouds herald what is to come, the buildings are lit by pre storm light combined with the last rays of day light. The storm that followed was quite severe with 868 recorded lightning strikes, just have to love the clouds and light. Equipment used Nikon D300 and Nikon 18 – 200mm lens. /

  • MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER / 190 Comments,125 Favourites, 2956 Views / Sydney is great for sunrises, it quite often receives spectacular sunrises as it greets the sunrises that appear from the east. This shot shows the city skyline as seen from North Sydney CBD on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour, in the foreground is Lavender Bay. Technique: HDR , 5 Bracketted images processed with Photomatix Pro with avery slight adjustment (sharpening & contrast) in Capture NX. Equipment: Nikon D300 , Nikon 18-200mm lens No filters or colour adjustment 1) RED SKY AT NIGHT… means that as the sun sets in the west, if it has a red hue or color to it, then the moisture was further west of their location. Thus SAILORS DELIGHT. A beautiful sunset. 2) RED SKY IN MORN…means that as the sunlight from the rising sun passes through moisture, it too will be red. This means that with the rotation of the earth, this will bring this moisture (and possible storm) right on top of them and it is only a few hours away. SO SAILORS TAKE WARN.” / I hope this bit of weather science helps.
