This is a print of the original piece entitled “I will wait for you here” / It was hand drawn with ink and digitally altered with color and texture. The background is old fabric that was scanned and copied into the print. I absolutely adore this piece. It shoots me right back to fifth grade when my best friend had her dad build us a swing in the woods. I used to swing for hours looking up at the birds…and wait. Im not sure what I was waiting for back then…but it didnt matter, I was happiest there. 2008. Age 21 Drawn with blue biro pen only. This cute little fella is called a ‘Plar’. He’s stuck up that tree! He even wore a winged-hat, but alas, he forgot he was scared of heights. Bless his little cottons. Usually Plars portray themselves elegantly, with a sense of pride and defiance despite their adorably big and alluring eyes. However, as this Plar shows, they are actually small and fragile little creatures who need our love just as much as we need theirs.
