  • Elk River Bridge- Lauderdale, Alabama by EmeraldSun

A shot I got going across this lovely bridge while on my trip. The body of water was a little more expansive than what is depicted here—part of the mighty Tennessee River, the Elk River branch is pretty swift moving water. This is taken late November 2008 with my Panasonic Lumix digital 5x optical zoom. Had a great time taking some great shots at this time of the year.

  • Alabama Fall Veggie Stand by EmeraldSun

The veggie stand outside this store was well stocked and going strong in late November this last year!-It was cool-45-50 degrees-but, the harvest had been good!! We stopped and stocked up for our little apartment while we stayed there for two weeks. It was great!-The veggies were so yummy!- As Is.

  • Alabama Hay Fields by EmeraldSun

I caught a chance to capture a shot of the lovely late autumn hay in round bails while on my excursions in North Alabama. Could not pass this one up—hope you enjoy it, too. As Is.

  • Beyond The Fence-Hillsboro Alabama by EmeraldSun

This is a wonderful shot I got while visiting my youngest son, his wife, and children- in Northern Alabama-a very rural/country setting. The horses are out and farming is still big here. Northern Alabama is very beautiful country side. I have always loved it.-As is.

  • Resolutions and Aiming for in 2009 on Redbubble / (This should be done by everyone on redbubble, in order to stimulate everyone and to do his/her best to promote his/her art. I hope that this journal is accepted in every group. This will produce more constructive work both for the individuals and also for the groups) 2008 has passed by and a new year has started. Everyone has his/her own resolutions and aims for the New Year. I will discuss mine with you. Emotions / On several times, I was on the verge of leaving Redbubble, but there was always something that told me NO. Most of this something was YOU : / YOU who bought my card, / YOU who add me to your watchlist, / YOU who favored my work, and / YOU who commented on my work. 2008 / So, with your help, this year I will aim for big!! / During 2008 I had nearly 20000 views(19506) on my art (excluding journals & clothing). / During December 2008 I had over 3000 views, my work was featured 25 times, I was featured 4 times, 2* of my art were used as avatars and I had a *photo featured on the redbubble homepage. 2009 / For 2009 I am aiming for some 36000 views (bringing a total of some 56000). / I am also aiming to sell at least SIX pieces of art. / (all this can only happen with your help). Also, since October, I stared my Monthly Journals where I record all my happenings in the respective month. Another idea that I came with was to create journals which gather together some photos to form a set. In this way, people visiting your page can get a good picture of what you are up to, and instead of one photo, you can sell a whole set:- / Maltese Boats / From the Past / I will gradually continue to increase these number of sets, and I will create a new Journal called Sets which will include a link to alll my sets. Now, YOU - / What are your aims? / What are you expecting from yourself in redbubble during 2009 ? Is there anything that I can help you with? / DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME. / (by the way – I am just a rookie/amateur in photography, but I am sure that I will expand my talent AND YOU CAN DO IT TOO) I JUST HOPE THAT WITH THIS JOURNAL I AM DELIVERING SOMETHING POSITIVE TO YOU MY LATEST WORK / Regards, Christian Zammit / Visit my gallery / Monthly Journals

  • Happy New Year's Eve! by budrfli

Do you ever have a picture you love so much you do not care what anyone else thinks? / Well, this one and the 50 0ther’s i took while experiencing this sunset would be mine… / Bob and I finally managed to get out and shoot some pictues on the 28th…we had planned to on the 27th(as we celebrated our 35th anniversary together!)but… / The past six months for us have been crowded with family crises in our different children’s lives. Some of them extremely draining and nonstop…so as we were both worn out and travelling home on our first photo shoot day in awhile it was peaceful to see the smooth unreal colors flooding the sky on our way home…Bob was so ready to be home, but knew when we were getting closed to home how important it would be to be tome to pass by our house and drive down the road to experience this sunset over the water…. / this was our reward…the beautyand peace were surreal as Our God flooded the sky and water with magnificient colors and the chatter of fisherman closing out their day and sailboats… / so it seems an appropriate vision to use to thank all of you for your friendship this year, and to wish you a peaceful last day of the year. May it lead into a New year full of promise and prosperity for each of you! KodakP712 / aperature setting / shutter speed1/6 sec / f stop 8 / max aperature2.60 / iso100 /

About This Group

A group for members who live in the great state of Alabama or were born in Alabama…or have a close connection to the state.

IMPORTANT! Photos can be of anything within reason and preferably photographed in Alabama or the subject refers to something in the state. GOOD examples are landmarks, tourist sites, schools and colleges, public events and shows, landscapes, cityscapes, beaches, lakes, rivers, parks, buildings, famous people, etc. Artworks can refer to the same things.

The idea is to showcase what Alabama has to offer in a positive way. People photos are fine IF they show something of Alabama. General photos of kids will be deleted if they don’t include something recognizable about the state. General flowers, birds, animals and sunrises or sunsets will be deleted unless they are very clearly specific to Alabama. If it could pass for just anywhere do not post it here, but find another group where it will be more appropriate to post those. Thank you.
