OIL PAINTING / Image Copyright © 2008 JANE À PARIS / Professionally photographed by Citizens Photo I gave this painting to my friend Alicia: In STATE LINES AND LOOPHOLES, I was trying to convey her frustration and anger, because there are holes everywhere, even in her damned “f” you finger. She is mad because lines and loopholes seem to rule her life…they tell her to follow the lines, yet they don’t, they tell her to follow the rules…yet they don’t, they make her run for the border…state lines, yet she is never free…it is just another lie…a loophole…the holes in her body are loopholes as well,... they are a big part of what forces her to go in circles/and loopholes. She is disgusted, and simply flipping everyone off with her broken holy finger. This broken holy finger represents the broken part inside her body, that is causing her so much pain. Her pen, her urethra/bladder. You paint in vivid bright unreal colors to convey emotions, and believe me she is very colorful, and full of bitterness… (illness and pain, holes) for real on the inside as well as the outside. There is a line across her neck where they have slashed her, representing what they did to the inside of her body, in her vagina. This painting is about going up against the system, and she is not very happy, because ultimately she lost. She is crying blood…for real. I also thought this painting fit you because you struck me as being a little rebellious as well sometimes my lovely Alicia. Featured on Underground USA, August 2009
Photoshop CS3 – photo manipulation
The pub is generally a quiet place, but the girls room seems to be a place to express anger in private. There is plenty of graffiti to read on why people should not move to our state and how everyone can go to hell. It doesn’t really fit with the atmosphere. Accidental Gun Death is a local punk band. Someone later added the lovely sticker on the seat. Technical process… / This is a photo I took into Photoshop. I adjusted the Hue/Saturation level to brighten in up. Then I adjusted with selective color until I was happy with it.
They say “every dog has its day”, I suppose that saying does not apply to Amur.

During a relatively peaceful 2002 protest against the World Bank in Washington, D.C., anti-war demonstrators began to change the situational climate of the march. Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, started to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. These demonstrators were pulled from the crowd, handcuffed and thrown on an awaiting Metro bus. No one was read their rights as bystanders looked on in horror. Pershing Park, Washington D.C. There just to be an old cliche I remember from the fifties about soviet Russia that went “there are three classes of people in Russia, those that are in prison, those that just got out of prison and, those that are on there way to prison”. Well after a number of years on this planet I have come to understand that in reality this curious cliché really applies to just about everyone everywhere in the world. And as most typified in the “civilized” world, justice is really only for the rich (or those with the biggest guns). The largest industry in the world is the building of prisons and there upkeep. This is of course only applies to countries where systematic summery execution is not state of the art. Anyway the point of this dialog is supposed to illustrate the sad state of the lack of sanitation in the world today. I’m a little put off by this when I am constantly reminded that most of the world goes to bed hungry anyway. Dysentery and rampant disease, war, puppet oligarchies, and continuous extortion of the poor to satisfy the Conspicuous Consumption of the elite and even there pontifical attitudes of pointing out minor atrocities of inequities while driving home in there gas guzzlers, makes me want to throw up. How sanctimonious, how self-serving, how much BULL can one planet sustain while throwing up tons of methane, that really creates global warming, so that they can have (in the end) a chicken sandwich or, a burger, stuffing there fat, obese faces, while the rest of the world (the majority) languish in malnutrition. Awhile ago John Dunn reminded us, truly, to “Ask not for whom the bell tolls” and that “No man is an Island”. I am sorry that this has all come to a worldview Charles Dickens novel. I am letting go of the last note on my journey of healing. Hardest to let go because it is the first poem I wrote.
“Coping with the Pain” – Is a piece I did inspired by Hearing that I wasn’t going to be able to attend college another semester ….I was accepted …they love my work and personality…it was just a money issue… I broke in tears while on the phone… Last time I cried like that was when my grandmother died – back in 2003 / The picture mostly is this: / -the fetuses inside my head REPRESENT – the many unborn ideas that will not be able to see life / The announcement of the news was like taking all that life and aborting it… / -The heart with the fuel guage on empty …depicts simply how my heart felt / -And the many mouths that scream with piercing agony show how my soul yelled within / .... / charcoal, graphite, colorpencil / on 18×24 drawing paper My therapy to get over it …and move on /

I have posted a limited number of 28 signed prints measuring 16” x 20” on eBay. To list them all search for “limited set of signed prints” on eBay While I want to push as much business as I can through Red Bubble there is no way for folks to purchase signed prints. And considering my financial status will change mid December and I will truly become a starving artist I need to move as much as I can so if you find one you like they come matted and signed and the buy it now price is a mere $50.00
2009 acrylic on 18” x 24” canvas. I entered “Lenore” in a show and decided to paint another skeleton-girl so that I wouldn’t go through withdrawl if it sold.

A group for unorthodox or progressive points of view that might be considered ‘alternative’, ‘subversive’, ‘independent’ or ‘liberal’ in the context of life in the United States, where conventional ideas tend to dominate society. I have opted to make this a global group because I believe that an exclusively USA member base perpetuates the Americentric focus that exists today in the United States. I feel that different perspectives and positions concerning the United States of America should have an opportunity to be expressed and heard. As moderator, I still have the final say on what will be accepted – you must follow the redbubble guidelines as to what is acceptable on this site
